I am an Indonesian Chinese, in Indonesia there are various ethnic groups, but we are still Indonesians who have a Chinese race, on average we can't even speak Chinese at all, in contrast to Chinese people in Malaysia whose Chinese culture is still thick. We are 100% Indonesian and born in Indonesia with various ethnic groups. just want to share with you. have a nice day!
@@yourenemy7715 Perhaps, you are from Java Island or other islands of Indonesia. As I know, North Sumatera province, such as Medan and other towns, Riau Province, such as Bagan Siapi-Api, Batam still have stick Chinese culture and they can speak some dialects, like Hokkian, Cantonese, Teochew or Hakka, I have some friends from those regions. I know some history of Indonesia, most of young Chinese race of Indonesia can't speak Chinese or their owned Chinese dialects perhaps was caused by 2nd Indonesian president, Mr. Soeharto's dictator leadership banning Chinese community in Indonesia to use Chinese characters, including speaking in Chinese language or dialects, actually it's a bad policy that caused many people lost the competitiveness if compared with Malaysian Chinese.
@@honchuen what you say is almost right. but the area with the most population is the island of Java. Java is the largest area in Indonesia and there are very many people with ethnic Chinese there. they are more obsessed with English and on average they are fluent in Indonesian and English. Like me, I study in an international school that uses English everyday at school and uses English-Indonesian as a mixed language to communicate with my parents. and mandarin lessons are only taught three hours a week to increase knowledge. because nowadays, especially in big cities in Indonesia, parents who are ethnic Chinese have also started to lose their cultural viscosity and are more concerned with international languages as a second language☺️
