It is so costly to operate these aircraft. But one possibility would be to start building a test pilot program that is tied to air shows and also a “live” museum. Take the F-4 sims and several of the aircraft and make them along with older aircraft and sims a kind of hands on museum. People can pay to fly a sim or sit in the cockpit of and F-4. At the same time keep two flying f-4’s for a test pilot training program and civilians who are willing to pay for the flight. Also use these aircraft for air shows. Give new test pilots the opportunity to fly these aircraft. The US, Russia, England, France, Germany all send their test pilots to private companies that maintain a fleet of older aircraft that help young test pilots experience what they are taught in books.
