+Nidav3 Never digged that psychodelic look of Persona. And it's typical "ordinary schoolboy" bullshit trope , that I'm so tired of. And SMT has so much darker tone, which I find much more appealing than any Persona. Strange Journey or Devil Survivor are much better spin-off ideas than Persona, IMO. Never played Digital Devil Saga Devil Summoner and the rest. People say those are great too.
+ArtFenixAsordis I recommend trying Persona 2 and 2.5 they're easily the best Persona games. 1 hasn't aged well and 3 and 4 well I like 3 but I can't stand 4.

I have no idea how anyone could enjoy P4 more then SMTIV. So hyped that the neutral ending is canon and you'll get to meet all the friends including protag from IV.
Wow, that trailer song!!! The more I hear from the soundtrack, the more I want to play this masterpiece already. Are we getting anime cutscenes in SMT IV Final or an anime for SMT IV Final because that'd be pretty great as well. I like the main character so much man, he looks different than most JRPG protagonists these days. But isn't he supposed to meet Dagda after he died? He reminds me so much of Hitoshura (from Nocturne) when he gets his demonic form or powers.

I think if they are keeping to the 2d style, then you should be able to view *your* 2d demon sprites at the bottom of the screen for a more aesthetic touch :D I also love animated sequences featuring smt demons, I hope there's more where that came from!
Will there be cutscenes like this in the full game, or just the still images that talk to each other? I'm honestly ok with either. I was disappointed how SMT IV did the cutscenes at first, but they really still had just as much emotional impact.
I'm finally on the final stretch of my first playthrough of smt iv, I'll beat it a second time on new game +, and then I'll start apocalypse so I can eventually play V. I wonder if the 3ds cutscene version of this trailer is also censored or maybe isn't due to it not being some type of commercial advertisement? (I can understand the idea of toning down the degree of violence least you'd run the risk of upsetting both parents and certain children.)
I'm pretty sure it was a design choice. Trauma team did a similar thing. They're called motion comics. Its not like megaten ever has desirable anime cutscenes either.
+KAZ yet SMT 3 had amazing graphics and cutscenes in 3d... I do not really know why they keep the best rpg series on a mobile just because some kids like more persona. I love persona, I love SMT, both deserve the best presentation possible.

The game industry has changed much since then, and Strange Journey sales flopping show how Persona has proven itself to be more profitable than mainline, which is why they don't go out of their way to make new assets for mainline. It makes total sense from a buissness standpoint and this is an industry you have to remember. +KAZ if by different era you mean "dying era" yeah. you are right. the only thing that really changed is that devs needs to answer to the racism of US market and the utter failures of most if not all western brands when it comes to innovation or experience. after a whole generation of grey and brown boring games about shooting people and zombies, the market is over-saturated of those elements and anything different is well received ( why do you think dark souls is so "big"?) atlus does not even have a bad "brand image" like capcom, konami or square enix (the last one does not deserve much hate from asian production, but all the hate for their western production), so with a little effort they CAN have a spotlight. you do not earn money by alienating the fanbase (for example making a SMT FPS online with soldiers, like capcom would do), but also you do not make money by refusing to stick your head out. its not "safe" for the main series? what about Digital Devil or Raidou Kuzunoha vs. series? Uriel from SMT4 is very possible to do in a poligonal model, and rather simple to animate (as it have 4 limbs with some smaller limbs) depending on the hardware and the ability of the modeler it can even become MUCH BETTER and more amazing. the body looks metallic, think about seeing those metal reflective, but also with a very dirty greasy look on them, with a PBR rendering that make it looks near photo-realistic, but then you see the organic face.
One day I hope that we will get a proper Shin Megami Tensei anime that manages to truly capture the soul of the series. Having both the series trademark darkness while also having the deep philosophical meanings, all backed by the quirky demonic humor that often crop up here and there.

Nvm, atlus's teaser trailer shows the uncensored version. I'm surprised it was uncensored for the atlus channel and censored for this channel. There must have been a reason behind that.

Would've been cool to see an female protagonist in a SMT-game again. Last time was in IF, if I recall correctly. Got my hopes up when I saw the first pictures from this, cause you can't deny that this one is androgynous as hell. Will play this and enjoy it all the same though, especially if they fix some of the problems I had with IV. Looking forward to it! Edit: You know what, it feels like my bias is being displayed here. Good for them to have a guy with long eyelashes and feminine features and hair. I actually like the design overall, much more interesting than boring Flynn.
