Presentation is good for entry level to understand about renewable and fossil generation. I am working in fossil generation industrial for 15 years. I owned solar PV too for the pass 5 years+ But There are few comments here. these are facts you never found in the books/teachers 1) Is it good with many renewable? who can control the grid frequency 50Hz and Voltage? Can solar/other renewable doing this? 2) Base on current statistic, Thailand has been achieved 20% renewable-they have many biomass plant as renewable. Malaysia is still behind the target last time set by YBY 20% in 2025? whos effort? political reason? financial? Stay tune with the retired fossil plant vs new built fossil plant. 3) Good to compare Australia with Malaysia. Do you know, the amount of sunlight we have in Malaysia Peak Sun Hour average is about the same in Australia? Do you know the tilt angle of solar installation in Malaysia is 0-15degree while in Australia is 15-30degree? To know the average power generated by solar in Malaysia = (Installed capacity solar) * (3.6 Peak Sun hour). I knew it when i built my own solar. By the way i add up with performance degradation factor to estimate my ROI. 4) Built solar in Australia can get 50% government subsidy. Our government subsidy for fuel, we are burning every day for car and electricity and finished. If they dont do that, no one can control the inflation. Why our society are not thinking of sustainable future? It is long run strategy, suffer now or suffer in future. Our society abit 后知后觉. Seems like no pressure to some people, no awareness. Due to cost and current policy i am abit fed up to see current policy which de-motivate me to built the next solar with current price. 5) Decarbonization is the main topics - should consider hydrogen usage which is not mature in residence used. I think will start from EV and charging first and new fast charging battery solutions. Solar-Hydrogen already developed but the demand not there yet. My personal Advice for the future generation - Awareness of Being self sustainable. A) Get rid of buying power from grid - generate your own power to power up your own devices is personal and family effort. set it as KPI for every individual or being discipline of usage of power. Every time we turn on a switch, power station will burn more fuel. It is individual efforts to cut the daily usage of power in order to safe the world. Ironically, businessman not think in that way. For me fuel subsidy abit like drugs. The growth of population+economy need more drugs. B) Grow your own food. C) live without spending money. D) Technology independence. live without depending on external forces. E) repeat the cycle help more people for the awareness.
