Dear Kubotan26, Thank you for support. This is a basic push hand training from Huang's Taiji, this is how new students start training. example 0:11 Grand Master told the students your the other hand should softly touch people elbow beware people use elbow to attack you. 0:13 maintain your own center point , don't do like this 0:18. The first part most importance is hand must very soft touch ( Ting / listening) and sit back 100% (0:21) , this training is no train students how to push people. Example : you don’t leave your own center of gravity, Move without leaving center, Center without loose/soft (Song松) loose/soft (Song松) without Round/circling training. I hope that my explanation you can under stand because my English is very poor.
Dear Anthony thank you for your reply I appreciate it. So You keep Centered stay Song and use Ting. How do you become centered ? Is it pulling in the navel and tucking the hips spine straight and moving without losing balance ?
Thank you for your support. First of all, I would like to tell you that practice and fighting are two different things. This video is a way for beginners to learn about basic push hand for Taiji. For your question, my answer is according to my understanding and it just a reference. For example, you wet a towel with water and then use a hook(Our head) to hang up the towel(our Body). You carry the hook with your left hand and the right palm is behind the middle of the towel. Now the towel is very well-hanging, this is like when we stand vertically feeling our head is hanging, and our heel and head is stretch out up and down. Now we do a test:- (1). Now you move your left carrying hook with the wet towel's hand (Our Body) forward, this is the meaning of my Grand Master move with keeping our center point(中正). Train to have this habit. (2). Now second test , you also move forward your left carrying hook with the wet towel's hand, but your right hand is holding the wet towel and make the towel move slower than your left hand(Towel is moving forward with 80 degree, not vertically). This situation is like when we want to push people, our head and body forward and our buttocks are still behind(身体扑前). This is a very bad habit, Grand Master mean don’t let new students to have this type of habit. Of course, when you have already practiced a very high level's Tai Chi, we can move freely at that time as long as we can control our own center point(动不离中). (3). The third test is , you move backward your left carrying hook with the wet towel's hand, but your right palm control the middle of the towel and move slower than the left hand. This situation is like when we was pushed by people our head and body backward but our buttocks are still behind. The correct move should be like sitting backward (坐腿)in the video 0:30. I hope that you get what I mean but remember this is my understanding and it just a reference.
