I got the Lush one too! Got a few bathbombs I already had, but I've never used any of the bubble bars so that was new and exciting. I love avocado too, so I was happy I got "Avobath".
For clothing, yes! The bags are categorized as "small", "medium", "large", etc. But in super-popular stores, if you're not quick, small and medium sell out fast and "large" will be the only choice remaining. :)
Micaela, this has to be one of my favorite videos - OF ALL TIME. I didn't even mind that it was out of focus. I loved that you opened your bags in the video and I learned something new about Japan. Thank you! I know that it's hard not to be hard on yourself for perceived production quality problems, but those things only matter if the content is not good. Bye!
This was a good video! I asked some of my friends about what's in 福袋 and they'd never bought one! You got some nice stuff from that first store. That cloth would make a great cubby house.
Okay. Anyways thank you so much for showing the rest of the world all those funny, unique things from Japan. Your videos are entertaining and educative for some. Happy New Year!
Yes! The jacket was the exact one I wanted. They were like, "It could be white, beige or black." and I was wondering who I was going to give it to if it wasn't what I wanted... :P
At the apple store? I'm not sure. I've never gone. The people who get the apple store fukubukuro usually start lining up a day before. It isn't only for women :). I'm a woman which is why I chose to buy clothes, but electronics stores, some popular restaurants, and men's clothing stores also do them. :)
Thank you for making this video. For the last couple of years I have had an incredible curiosity about Fukubukuro. I don't know why, but I did. Thank you. And of course, Happy New Year.
Hey Ciaela, Happy New Year! I've been watching the whole range of your videos from your earliest to the latest. And i've definitely observed that you used to be really bratty and whiny back in the earlier days, but you've matured into a real wonderful woman!
I'm pretty sure that the apple store ones are already all claimed. They get lineups around the block from the day before they even start selling them. Haha, but I buy all my Mac computers refurbished and save money that way. :) You could try that! Free shipping, too!
Hi Micaela, Wow Japanese culture is so funky fresh, I really must visit Japan one day! I think leaving home at a young age to go to another country and following your heart is far out, you go girl! Very funny and interesting uploads. :)
I've done tons of giveaways, so I don't appreciate that. The reason I'm not doing one "NOW", or because I'm not keen to do them "ALWAYS" is because it ends up being a lot more trouble than it's worth. I've had items come back to me because winners gave me the wrong address, I've had people complaining and getting upset when they didn't win, I've had people not respond to e-mails--leaving me to pick someone else... Only to have the original person come back and complain... It's just not "fun".
LOL at that big tablecloth thing, so funny. I bet whoever packed that one had a good laugh. Nice vid, but like you already know, needs moar focus, haha. Happy new year.
Yeah. I never bought them before this year. It's better to spend your money on things you actually want--but at the same time, this year I figured that if at least one thing I liked was inside, then the rest would just be an opportunity to try clothing/styles I wouldn't regularly try.... Plus, I can always give stuff to my sister, etc. :P
I don't really enjoy translating all that much, so I don't really look for translating work. I'm not really sure how to go about getting jobs as an interpreter, although I'm sure there are tests and certification you need if you're going to be working for big clients like that...
I went to grab the link for you but the Japanese apple store is down for updates right now. It's on the apple store website, in the bottom left corner, there should be a link to the refurbished items. I bought my macbook pro for 8man yen there. :)
That black jacket is SO cute! and thats a great price for all the clothes you got! :D Lol, that tacky shirt with the rinestones looks like something a girl in the City Hunter anime would wear :P Sooooo dated and bright~
Ohw, and congratulations you tooooo!! It was a long long way to 2013, the road was really borring. But hey! Happy new year! Bonne année! Feliz navidad! Frohes neues Jahr!
I bought a fuku-bukuro at a Bic-camera store. There was a wi-fi router in the bag. I was satisfied with that, because the fuku-bukuro was 4,980 Yen. The router is usually about 10,000 Yen.
When you said you were gonna give those useless things to your mom and the "conversation" you imagined made me laugh so hard i spilled water out of my mouth (was drinking at that time).
I'm so glad you did this video! I'm going to go to American Village (I live in Okinawa) and find fukubukuro today! Hopefully they still have some left. :)
I would totally use the hand blaster. From what I could see on the picture it looked like a spiderman water gun sort of thing. Would entertain me for hours!
I almost bought the Village Vanguard's because the bag was so cool! I ended up spending 10,000¥ there anyway. I got bags from CouCou, Claire's, and Lush. CouCou's had the best value with a supersoft small pillow and blanket, bentou box, and lots more for 1000¥. Claire's had a lot of kids hair things and a cute bag, the Lush 3000¥ Bath set had 7 bath bombs/bubble bars which are all pretty nice.
Yo, I got so much yaru-ki that I'm nailing 2000 kanji in a month! Its day 11 and I am at 1100! You are inspriational and I totally want to live and enjoy Japan soon. Soon... hopefully over the summer for studying abroad!!
Last year I bought a Liz lisa fukubukuro and inside there was really cute shorts and two tops :D I love fukubukuro!! It costs a lot to buy them on ebay though so I try to only buy them from the official stores otherwise you don't save any money :(
HAHA, When I saw that all the clips were out of focus I pretty much wanted to quit youtube forever.... But I realized the best thing I could do was go ahead and try to make a video anyway.....
I bought one last year. Unfortunately I had to get one online, so the cost was definitely not worth it, and the contents were a mixture of completely random stuff. I got things that I have absolutely no idea what to use them for! XD I did not end up using half the things I got.. But it was fun anyway!
