Dear Mr. Chien Chung Wei, I am an Italian watercolorist who has just bought your Holbein watercolor set. After seeing same your paintings and video, I decided to experiment with this new way of choosing colors. In fact, in spite of what most of the artists say (especially of the old school of thought), I learned that you use a "rainbow" range of transparent pigments, to which she also associates a range of opaque colors. I still wanted to ask if I understood well what you explain in presentation video of the Holbein set: the opaque colors (those at the bottom of your palette in the video) are mainly used in the first wash to capturing the "light" and to define the colors, while the transparent colors (those at the top of your palette in the video) are mainly used in subsequent washes to define tonal values, shadows and details. I understead right? Thank you in advance for the answer I hope you can give me. I wish you many happy days full of color, and I hope to be able to attend one of your next workshops in Italy! Regards, Marcello
I am not able to find this set. Has anyone bought this recently if so, where? Also, is Chien Chung Wei still using the same palette, anyone know? Thank you.
Hi, in the cover of the selection of Holbein 24 colors and in the DVD l'Art de l'Acuarelle in Italy white dots appear that are very integrating of the painting. How are they achieved? Thank you very much.
