Hi Sarah. Please do not buy a home which has a swimming pool. It is because of a child's safety. A child can fall into the swimming pool. There is news reporting accidents of children drowning in swimming pools at home.
Congratulations to your young family. Everything seemed to be looking up for you guys. However, just be on the safe side. No impulse buying. Especially when Jason is the only breadwinner of your family. The kids are still young and a baby on the way.....be careful and dun rush unto making hasty decision. Think of the consequences. 140-145k if you want to sell fast, buyers can bid up. You have no upgrades, hard to sell over 150k. Swimming pool is a great IDEA, but terrrrible in practicality. High electric, high water, high maintenance, and hard for resell in the future. I don’t understand why you don’t stay in the current house until the baby needs her own room, then you’ll have a bigger downpayment, lower interest rate. You guys do things so irrationally and hastily.
Of course the dream is to have a house with a swimming pool. However after much research we have decided against it. We were excited to see such a nice house in our budget with a pool but the additional costs and safety concerns has changed our mind. When we purchased the current home it was never our intention to live there long term but to merely find a comfortable place to live our own life. The baby coming has accelerated our moving timeline. However, we can also stay in this house for at least a year after the baby arrives in August.

@@SpicyKimchi- It's uncomfortable for a big -size person like Jason to walk around. The fat legs will chafe and knees will get hurt. That's physical pain. mentally.. I believe fat people don't like exercises but swimming is really a very good way to lose weight in a short period of time.
