Shochikubai (Tsuru-Kame) (Kotobuki no Mai). Kotobuki refers to a happy or auspicious event. This dance was created as a congratulatory celebration with the hope of happiness. The "pine is a symbol of long life, the bamboo of honesty and the plum of beauty. The crane and turtle, other symbols of longevity were added later to the original choreography. All good wishes for a happy celebration. Much happiness to the performers and the audience celebrating this auspicious occasion. Okinawa culture alone, is a reason to celebrate.
