The Chinese style remind me I was in school at Singapore. Almost the same. None of my classmates interested what the teachers are teaching. Only those interested will stay till the end. Also teachers cry because my classmates not interested in the lesson. Same dramatic as I had experience
I think this competition is literally unfair. The students from China and UK had been taught differently since they were young, and they couldn't cope with another teaching method within a small period of time. Its more fair for chinese teachers to teacher chinese students, and the same for UK. In my opinion, the Chinese teaching method is good to teach students the content for their exams, and the efficiency is higher since no time will be used for self stimulation. The UK teaching method would be better to tap the students potentials and develop independency, and also personal thoughts. They are given freedom and they will know that sucess depends on themselves, which also develops self-discipline. There is no such thing as the best way to teach, as they both have their pros and cons.
In addition, the students in UK and China have been living in a totally different environment, their way of thinking and personal values have huge differences
