I've felt like what makes this channel and Ao-kun so popular and endearing is that it's naturally set up like a classic show with Ao as the original star and straight-man. The show goes on and more characters are introduced, first a daughter with a very defined personality and energy, another daughter with a different but defined personality, a second cat that is arguably more "interesting" with a goofier personality and a unique look and body, and even some beetles and frogs and it becomes an ensemble show, but Ao is still the star and the center of everything that holds everything else together. Even if he's not always the focus and subject, he's overlooking everything and being the straight-man to whatever silliness is going on. He perches like a majestic lion, carries a stern air and doesn't do many shenanigans like other RU-vid cats does, but stays close by and watches everything like an older master whose job it is to oversee the family growth. Ao had a lot of what's called "stage presence", too, when he was on-screen you couldn't take your eyes off of him. And all of this just developed naturally and coincidentally. Ao didn't even know it, but he was a true star to a real audience. All the time he was healing apparently hundreds or thousands of people at the same time, all he could think about was when his next treat tube was coming or waiting for one of the girls to take a nap so he could take one. :P
