The Music Video is a tribute to the Hong Kong classic movies back in the 80s and 90s. Around those years, Hong Kong film industry was at peak and was once called "Eastern Hollywood". 1. Hong Kong cafe was one of the common theme/scenes in the movies, which usually gave down-to-earth, friendly, comic vibes. The music video set the scene in a Hong Kong cafe for the similar reason. [Reference movie: ] ------------------------- All the movies shown on TV: 2. Jiangshi (Chinese Vampire) was once the most popular horror/comic themes in the Hong Kong film history. The monster image was brought up/created in the 1980 movie and went viral in the movie 5 years later. And ever since that, there were at least 100 Jiangshi movies produced till the early 1990s. In all the Jiangshi movies, the gesture of holding-your-breath prevented Jiangshi from smelling/seeing the living things. The music video used the concept to bring up both Jiangshi and taoist as a tribute. [Reference movie: ; ] 3. The back of the mystery man came from the classic 1989 movie- starring Chow Yun-Fat. The story was about a professional poker gambler, who was considered the best at poker games. The main character often showed his back at the beginning of the movie to remain a mystery. "Xiao-Ma" shouted loud at one scene in the music video belonged to John Wu's 1986 gang movie- starring Chow Yun-Fat (again), which told a story about the criminal and antiheroic life of Mark (Xiao-Ma). The character gave Chow Yun-Fat one of the earliest awards and made him an icon to all people. [Reference movie: ] 5. The boxing battle scene in the music video was a reference from a Stephen Chow movie in 1994- . The movie went on with Steven Chow style humor and was considered one of the many best Steven Chow movies. [Reference movie: ] -------------- 6. Sandra Ng has been the queen of comedy in Hong Kong since the 80s. She is also called "the female Stephen Chow" given the fact that she mainly does comedy and she has had many collaborations with Stephen Chow including . The ending credit of the music video was a tribute to one of Sandra Ng's best-known comedies

Something that you might not catch is the name of the song itself. Even though it's translated as "Hubby", the chinese characters would translate to "imaginary hubby" better. They're playing on homonyms for the first character. That's why the MV having her watching movies and singing about imaginary husbands makes so much sense.
