I saw a comment about how this might be about moving on after a loved one passed away, and I feel as if it might be about dealing with suicidal thoughts due to the passing of a loved one. The shoes at the end really made me think of this because in Japan, it is tradition to take off your shoes before committing suicide so I was genuinely worried until he came back to put on the shoes, which made me realize that maybe the story here is that two boys were really close symbolized by the bracelets, when one of them passed away and the other was left in depression, which is the long haired form of him. He is able to overcome his depression by remembering the the other boy will always be with him in his memories (as the butterfly, symbolism) and he is able to overcome his depression and move on. just a theory after one watch tho haha

I’m so excited for this! I was already addicted to this song and was listening to it nonstop on Spotify. So I was wondering when the MV will come out.

The animators hasn't seen the light of day in years, E ve has trapped them in their basement again Honestly every frame is amazing, The animation team is always on top 👏👏

No matter how many times I watch this MV I tear up. The ending scene in particular always hits me. Just seeing the person smiling through the tears, finally finding the courage and strength to break through the darkness. I'm in awe of how much care has been put in all the details. The way in the end the person's eyes change to blue (originally being red) matching the person they held dear to their heart gives me so much comfort to know that they are not alone and that their loved one is fighting alongside them and they'll always stay in their heart and memories forever ;-; it's just so beautiful

Alright guys, it's theory time...this is my first one so please don't be too harsh on me. I believe this song is narrating the story of two friends who were so close and had fun together all the time. They wore a friendship bracelet, red and blue which complement each other and when mixed creates purple...I believe one meaning of aisai is violet...I could be wrong. Anyway, I think they promise each other that they'd be together forever to complement each other. However one of them (the one with the blue band) grew apart and stopped seeing the other and probably forgot about him. Since he is the one wearing the red bandm we see the background is mostly red probably symbolising his loneliness at being just red and no blue to complement him. He keeps the blue band with him in hope of meeting him again but he doesnt return. The sun also shows how they were feeling, the sun was shining brightly when both of them were together but now it has been eclipsed by the moon since one of them left giving rise to the red colour background. I believe the butterfly symbolises the thought of the other friend which is why it is represented in a blue colour and often shows up around the guy with the red band. It hovers over the picture as if to remember the past. But then the butterfly disappears and it appears red. Also it is easy to see that the guy with the red band is feeling sad and when the butterfly goes past him he is alert and feels like his friend is back to him. When he isn't... I analysed this just by looking at the animation...I don't know much about the lyrics or it's meaning since I don't know Japanese...let me know what you think!! Thank you for reading my theory!

I read quite a few comments stating that Eve's song yakusoku (promise) and aisai have a similar story being conveyed to the listeners, here's how I see it: Yakusoku shows the death of a close friend just like aisai, but i see it as a song about how to cope up with the death of a loved one and how to overcome the feeling of sadness. Aisai is a song which portrays how to love again in life, showing that even though love is sorrowful sometimes, the memories you make with that person is irreplaceable and that love is something far more beautiful than we understand. It's something that would stain our hearts with happiness, just like the colour indigo.

I only learned about Eve through Jujutsu Kaisen and the next thing I know i'm listening to his entire discography. Idk what his genre is but his music is sooo good I find them healing. I think I'm having a crush on him.

i think this is about moving on after a loved one has passed away/left. the band was what was binding dark haired guy (we see it break at the end, symbolizing he has moved on) and making him live in the past, once he was able to let go of red band guy's memories (seeing the moon clearly), he was able to walk again (new/polished shoes).

I came to know Eve with the song raison d'etre in 2020 and I really liked it.Then after the release of jjk I started to listen more of his song like kaikai Kitan,heart forecast,as you like it etc. Now I still listen to his songs with eagerness,and everytime I do gives me feelings like nostalgia and melancholy and kind of helped me get to accept and understand myself better . Eveさんの曲は何回か聞いていくうちに好きになっていくことが多かったけど藍才は最初からめっちゃ好き

I think the butterfly is supposed to resemble happy memories between the two friends, as it first appears when they're having fun at that lake. The current world has that blue-ish tint to it, meanwhile the alternate red world is grief. We don't see the blonde boy in the red world and at the end when the world goes back to blue, so I think he died and his friend is fighting through the grief world, trying to chase that butterfly back to reality. The other boy, with his hair grown out towards the end, shows how much time has past since his friend passed away. The boy gaining the butterfly wings as he flies towards the dark moon shows he chose to confront the memories of his friend to break the cycle of grief.
