Ignorance is a bliss. Radio blackout problem due to plasma enveloping re-entry vehicle has been solved for over 40 years and authors of this video continue to claim it as some sort of impenetrable barrier against communication. Plasma doesn't form uniformly across the entire re-entry vehicle. The area facing rear ward (towards space) has very little plasma and X Band communication can be easily established. Look up TDRS satellites and you will know why shuttle missions since 1988 no longer had blackout issues on re-entry. Plasma blackout was a problem prior to the availability of communication satellites due to ground stations' inability to penetrate through plasma. Even that is likely no longer an issue using laser communication from ground stations. There are also solutions using multilayered material with specific types of permeability and permittivity that substantially reduces radio signal attenuation through plasma. These solutions are NOT pursued due to the advent of communication satellites.
