I'm so happy you visited Indonesia. I'm so sorry if you had some troubles in Indonesia. Indonesia's public facilities are not very good compared to Japanese public facilities. The train here is also not very fast, unlike 新幹線 in Japan. There are many choices of public transportation from Jakarta to Bali, some of them you can order the tickets online, using travel appli. Also Bali has its own international airport, so if you just want to visit Bali, maybe you can fly directly to Bali. But there are many good places in Java too. I'm from Malang, a city south of Surabaya. The fried snack you ate on the train is known internationally as 'empanada' (エンパナダ), but in Indonesia, especially in Java, we call it 'pastel' (パステル). It is usually filled with vegetables, egg, and chicken meat. The green chili pepper is spicy and eaten to enhance the flavor of many food/snack. The ぷにょぷにょ snack is 'kue talam' (タラム) or 'kue nona manis' (ノナマニス). The prefix word 'kue' (クエ) means snack. A little trivia, 'nona manis' means 'sweet lady'. The spicy chicken with rice is known as 'ayam geprek' (アヤムグプレック). It is indeed very spicy.😆 You can eat the spicy chicken together with the white rice to make it less spicy.
20 years is very long,Try to come here (Yogyakarta) because now the tourist attractions here have changed a lot (better and cleaner) Or search RU-vid by keyword "tempat wisata di Yogyakarta" Maybe by watching some of these videos, it can help you to be nostalgic😉
First, Thank you visit my country. Second, We apologize for uncomfortable during the trip because culture shock 🙇 And take the positive, you got experience while traveling to Bali from Jakarta using trains, ferries and buses.
I know what you feel.... I appreciate your bravery, even as a local I don't like to take a risk to go to Bali from other Java Island using train. I did once using car, that's it.
this is a problem with indonesian... XD normal ppl would be like Japanese. using train. and walk. don't apply Indonesian logic here because Indonesians are weird. they prefer motorcycle than car. and also they love their private vehicles than walking, cycling, or using public transportation..
Hospitality with some meaningless conversation (and sometimes offering stuff like food or snacks) is a common or you can say culture in our country. Its not just to foreign but also to locals especially if you around in the villages or small city. Train speed and comfortablity are stil a problem in our country, for jakarta - surabaya i prefer the sleeper bus rather than the train because i cannot sleep with lights on 😅 the high speed train project are on development. Thank you for your sharing.😊
