I've briefly read this article sometimes back. There're evidence pictures.. archives of auction. Didn't paid attention to remember the details. Think till the end is a franken watch, that's the conclusion. But to the purists even servicing the watch isn't original anymore. Therfore some among them after servicing it's a franken too. It isn't authentic anymore if you're highly strict to this mindset.
So I always think, is it necessary to be a purist. I accept changes that match its production period. But not everyone think like that way. It is a very controversial topic actually.
@@14watchchannelfourteenth45 It's true what you say there. I'm kinda leaning toward purist-ish.. but only slightly cuz I don't like changes myself, if it's not necessary. Smiley face wink wink. When I'm back in hk I'll pay you a visit in your store. We'll have a good chat!
I really doubt if Yu knew the term "franken" and understood the eligibility benchmarks for a piece to be sold by auction by the esteemed auctioneers. Auctioneering of collection pieces is an industry that has been around for centuries that illiterates like Yu would never understand.
Oh yea, btw.. just incase if you're looking for watches abroad, my advice is.. I do skip Italy!!! Better buy it for higher price and have it in your hands first instead of being cheap, local would be best. You know what you get!!
