I bought a stella cherry plant 2 years ago. It has grown to about 5 feet tall in a pot but just leaves only. There was a bacteria infection on one of it's branches ( it has only 2 main branches) but it has healed. That infected branch has continued to grow . Should I cut off the section of the branch that was infected? That time when it was infected, some liquid like honey was oozing out of the branch and once I saw a big green moth on it. Please advise. thanks
When gummosis happened on a cherry tree, it is most likely to have a virus and bacteria infection together. It can be difficult to get controlled sometimes. If it is winter now , you can cut off the infected branch up to the lowest bud point. That branch has to be taken away from the area. Even though it has healed . Then apply Kocide Blue Xtra once a week three times. After one week, use insert control repeat at 7 to 14 day intervals, ensure spay all foliage including the under surface of leaves. The tree should have leaves at that time. To observe closely. Hopefully the branch will grow healthy again. Good luck 🤞 🤞Thanks 🤝🤝💕💕
@@j.j.idyllicgarden Thank you for your fast reply . I am from Malaysia and right now, the weather is gloomy and sometimes it rains. Can I cut the branch off and apply plant sealant and move the plant to a shaded area until it heals? I can’t find Kocide Blue Xtra in my country.
@@CoFFee123.. I am not sure what is the temperature there. Is it a coldest time? If not, wait until the oldest season starts, then the branch can be cut, sanitize scissors before cutting, then seal the wound with sealant or paint. You can’t find the same product to treat virus infection. Please find similar product in your area. By the way, “Stella “ usually requires 400 chilling hours per year. If the weather condition does not meet, it will affect the fruit-set rate as well. Thanks 😊 😊
