Actually MAS airline now is really cheaper than AA, for example that day I bought a ticket from SABAH (SDK) to KL is only costing RM150++ instead of AA need to pay RM300++. MAS still got free luggage, meals, and spacious seat. Anyhow, wish all AIRLINES company do their most effort to provide good service with MORE affordable price, AA recently seems not too friendly in providing cheap airfare anymore. Even YB Anthony always say ask airlines company fix the maximum price, but if you really check their price not seems cheap but MORE EXPENSIVE, really headache with this scenario.
Full service airlines ... Can't compete with SQ on services, convenience ,connectivity ... And Changi Airport is just beside Johor ... Changi is a major aviation hub ... Also Bangkok is not too far away
i think MAS still can do better, another one need to look into it are our airport, really malu if compare to other country! KLIA 2 so big but need to walk so far to everywhere and the eatery placement so weird, while KLIA the aerotrains already stop working and now everyone have to use bus and walk longer journey to different terminal, if we to attract people better first fix the airport then follow by MAS internal issue.
Before separation, Singapore already suggested international flights as the main route. Serving locals can wait because travellers can opt to use the road and sea. Have you wondered why Singapore is such a small island yet so many visitors from overseas flying in and out 24/7 for so many years? Do they have so many things to see and enjoy? Not cheap yet flooding with visitors and expanding their airports. Airport business is more than flights. Look at their MRT stations, normally attached with bus interchanges, shopping malls besides business and entertainment centres. Within the stations and undergrounds are fully maximised the use of spaces besides using them as bomb shelters. Instead of thinking and saying that Singapore has not many choices with limitations of land usage, why not think Malaysia lacks of talents and foresight in planning for development projects.
Another suggestion, make this your unique edge. No lne else is able to copy. That is, take out 30 to 40 percents of seats. For now, you are not able to fill the plane anyway, take out the seats to make passengers more comfortable,( lagi best if can play football, joking) build a reputation of giving biggest space to passengers. Then work from there.
