龙腾虎跃 Leaping Dragon, Crouching Tiger - 狮城华乐团 City Chinese Orchestra 

Performed during the CCO Concert Verdant Dreams《鼓吹狮城》on 6 May 2012, at Dunman High School Performing Arts Centre, Singapore.
The thematic material of this lively, vivacious piece is based on the ethnic music of the Zhejiang people. The piece comprises four parts: 1. Prelude -- a short introductory passage evoking a scene of immediate grandeur; 2. Allegro -- introduction of the piece's main theme amidst an energetic pulse; 3. Percussion section -- an impressive showcase of the great variety of sound, texture and colour of Chinese percussion instruments; and 4. Allegro reprise -- re-introduction the main theme of in a different key and culmination in a majestic finale.
此曲的旋律音调取材於浙江民间吹打乐《龙头龙尾》。全曲由引子和三个部分组成。开始引子是富於气势与号召性的短句。紧接着的第一部分是欢腾热烈的快板。第二部分是长大的鼓段；作曲家充分发挥了丰富的鼓点和不同音色，渲染出振奋人心，气势磅礴的场面。乐曲第三部分是变化再现；主题旋律与鼓声交响奏鸣，形成奔腾的气势，热烈地表现了人民生龙活虎，奋勇前进的形象。这里，作曲家以鼓的音色、音量的不断递增使整个乐队的音响层越来越厚，最终达到全曲的高潮。
