i just speechless why they didn't get superboot. their performance is so perfect. i just wonder why minsu and sunwoo didn't pass the audition ㅠㅠ i'll cheer for Suwoong Sungjun and Onejunn >.< . its been a long time since i heard "hello" song. Hope they will get more recognize.. they deserve for that ㅠㅠ i still annoyed .. all of them feel like still sleep on their talent. for me, this is the best performance so far >.
Minsu lack of eye contact that was Rain excuse they never explain Sunwoo. They like there performance especially Taemin he wanted to pass them but the rest of the judges were determined to eliminate someone. I think if Taemin did not listen to them BR would have all pass. I feel like Rain just there for a paycheck I mean he let that actor pass not even Taemin who found that talent less actor funny gave him a pass.
coz dat actor is more lively n determined dis boys were lacking confidence we expected dem to make eye contact show professioalism but dey were lacking confidence .
I'm Minsu biased, and when I got to know neither him nor Sunwoo (whose voice I love) didn't make it, I was like 'it's ok. Let's wait for the audition. They probably were nervous and couldn't do their best'. But guess what. They did. To be honest, there were participants who did nowhere near as good and got 6 votes. I'm shocked.
This is so damn heartbreaking. I saw the live in Berlin, I hugged Sunwoo and told him that "I love him so much".. and now this. Boys Republic is such a great group. The members have have such a nice personality. And the show in Berlin was just so damn awesome. Boys Republic fighting. Still love you guys ♡♡♡

This was one of the best performances on The Unit imo and I'm still highkey sad that Minsu & Sunwoo didn't pass. I hope the other 3 make it far and that Boys Republic can finally get the success and recognition they deserve!

i totally agree! just sing Hello acapella & wow the judges. for performance, i would have wanted them to do Get Down for their choreo & definately minsu will impress them bcoz I cant get my eyes off him in that song.

Hwang Chi Yeul is super outstanding as a Judge/mentor. When boys did the group-dancing, he was the only one to recognize one of them was super outstanding.

I might be biased but I just don't get how all five of them didn't pass. They did a really great job. I figured Minsu and Sunwoo had made some minor mistakes when I heard the whole group didn't pass but in watching this, I'm so confused. Good luck to my other three loves but I just don't understand.
the judges really are right to be guilted by splitting them up, you could see in the performance boys republic is a group that thrives together and draws you in as a _unit,_ no pun intended. they were always well-balanced w great chemistry. and the "you didn't look us in the eye" is a fkn sad excuse - what, someone dances and performs well but doesn't get through because of that? it was oNe performancE!! jesus, minsu I'm sorry sweetie. and we didn't even get an explanation for sunwoo's elimination, this show is stupid. tbh, the audience should've given them a superboot idk why they were sleeping. they deserved to continue together, at least after that dance break! I'm kinda mad. good luck to those who passed I'll be cheering you on.
I watched a ton of Boys Republic music videos and performances after The Unit (even though i'm always too lazy to watch so many stuffs unless i already stan the group)....no thanks Sungjun lol. i found that i didn't click with most of their songs, but...i kinda regretted watching their stuffs so much cuz it only made me felt sooo bad for the two members who didn't get in. Minsu especially...whenever i watch their perf, he's totally attention commanding n shines the most on stage...he'd probly do so well in this show if only he manage to get the pass in, n he seemed to really wanted it so bad too...ugh, he belongs in the spotlight,...and their perf here was sooo good, better than many more popular groups, they're super synchronized though yeah maybe they lacked a bit of confidence...or shoulda dance their own song) still...i just don't get those judges' standard like cmon(i just watched one of the girls getting 6 boots from the judges just for 'being charming' without any other skills like wth)...and Sunwoo would probly do really well on vocals too in the show since i feel his was quite distinguishable...compared to say...Suwoong...though the latter definitely is probly gonna be the most popular anyway...Onejunn didn't get much focus on the show for me to notice much too, but i remember the scene where he's blabbering by himself after nobody chose the same song as him for the longest of time n he's stuck alone in the room lol. that left an impression. Sungjun though, as much as he's the funny guy whom nobody take seriously sadly, his perf here impressed me much, he's totally focused and brimming with confidence n charisma...i'm just glad i watched My Story perf randomly at the time i didn't plan to watch The Unit, or else i wouldn't have found Sungjun's awesomeness in there(despite having 2-3 lines only) and Boys Republic....although it's still hard for me to become a fan when none of their songs spoke strongly to me, but i want to root for them, n hopefully they will have comeback with song that i'd love. still bitter at the result...but oh well, Boys Republic Fighting!
I wish they performed their own song instead... could've promoted it that way too bc boy's republic has many bops in their discography, like 'get down' or 'the real one'... in my opinion, those songs could draw more attention to them😕
i like them but to be completely honest, their performance was normal. it feels like a perf in some university's festivals. they just covered Overdose without changing anything, and the dance routine was also a cover. their individual skills are ok but if you ask for Super Boot through that team perf then it's definitely a no
Ha Anh Nguyen If this was a girl group though, you'd probably be up in arms about how unfair it is they didn't all get in. That's mostly irrelevant to this video though, so pay it no mind. This really was not all that special though. It was good, but it wasn't great.
Simbabuu - You get the super boot depending on how you appeal to the audience. Yes they are more talented then some of the other super boots and I think they deserve a super boot but they didn’t appeal that well to the audience for this performance Not trying to be rude or offend
I still couldn't move on when he (I'm not sure sunwoo or who) said that he is thinking about suicide. It's break my heart. Why can't all of them passes together instead of choosing individually? It's unfair for me. They really deserve better. I wanted to sue their company srsly. Their song is lit, their performance is lit, they are lit, why can't they be a successful like the other kpop group? Why don't people recognize their talents? This is really heartbreaking, I can't take it😭💔
i just watched the full ep with eng subtitles and they were really good i thought all of them were going to pass. its soo sad they kept separating members of groups but in this groups case im now interested in seeing those two guys who didnt pass.
I think it was unfair what they went through getting compared to bts and getting accused of copying them and trying to beat them when they debuted first I love bts and I know it wasn't their fault I just feel bad that they never got their chance to shine and show ppl their talent

Tbh I'm sure if they had done their own song Get Down and maybe twinked a bit with it (kinda like how f(x) did with Red Light in their Dimension 4 tour, you know, Luna's special part that showcase her amazing vocals while making a rock version of the song? That was absolutely brilliant) they all would've passed :'( Cause in that performance they all get the spotlight at some point and it's such a bold performance! And like, their performance here was good, but I didn't see nothing truly special with it :( and it's true that they were looking at the ground too much, and that's a great sin when you're a dancer! =( I'm sure they were really really nervous. Still I love the boys and they really deserve so much better!!
...tbh, it's difficult to cover most of sm groups' song bc sm is good at making the songs their artist's. The feel/vibe will be less when others perform it.

maybe it's because I'm not biased, but I can't relate with most comments here... like, I know they're talented af, but here it doesn't show. they danced overdose like a group of rookies in a busking event somewhere in hongdae, not as idols. the dance break seemed to have been choreographed years ago and they were just following along, instead of trying to actually showcase their dance skills. the transition from overdose to the dance break was too unnatural and, in my opinion, unnecessary. instead of cutting and pasting together two songs, they could've put the effort in making overdose theirs, because if they're here it's because they have the talent and the desire to do so. honestly I'm not surprised not all of them made it, during overdose they weren't really in sync and after they were done they seemed uncomfortable and somewhat scared; you'd expect them, as active idols, to know how to present themselves after a performance but, again, they acted like rookies, or even trainees. yes, they're "failed idols", of course they'd feel anxious, but look at their performance not as a fan but as a judge and you'll notice all those mistakes. if I was making a new group only two of them would've convinced me, three if I was being generous (and no, it's not exactly the three that passed ;)), the rest made me feel like they had given up already, or maybe they were too trusting on the fact that they're a group and thought if the talented kids are with me I'll make it. I hope they're doing better during the show and give it their all, because this is a second opportunity and after this they won't get a new one, unless they want to become the new toppdogg (which I'm a fan of, but really they screwed themselves over the years and now their reputation is almost impossible to salvage ;;)
I respectfully disagree with you on some points and agree with you on other points. I didn't think they danced or sounded like rookies in a busking event. I thought their choreography was in sync and I liked the dance break, but I understand that one is a matter of opinion so it's fine that you didn't like it. I am a fan of theirs so I am biased, but I did try to be unbiased when I watched their performance and I do agree with you that they should not have received a superboot. Honestly I feel like their lack of confidence is what did them in and I think it must have been intimidating performing in front of those particular judges. They didn't have their usual dynamic presence when on stage and I think if they had, they would have gotten a superboot. But I admit as their fan, some of them did not have their usual stage presence. A lot of us fans on here are desperate for them to succeed because we don't want them to disband and in Minsu's interview he had said he had been depressed and even considered suicide. Considering this, it's not surprising that his fans (including me) are even more disappointed that he didn't make it and I think that is why a lot of commenters here really wanted a superboot. They are also super close as a team so it makes us sad to see them be split up, but as I said, I do think their performance was lacking of their usual vitality.
I kind of feel like they should've picked another song, overdose is not really the best choice to showcase talents, but even the judges admitted that they would be way worse off separated than as a whole...so why not let them pass as a group because no matter what they have a good group dynamic and are very well coordinated. Yes they were nervous but why weren't they given a chance to idk showcase something else - like their own song? A lot of other contestants got that opportunity. But I do agree they lacked punch, I just don't think it's weird considering they've been working their asses off for 4y and haven't gotten any more recognition for it. You can't compare their situation to a rookie group or individuals who just want to 'switch genre'... this show is mainly a REBOOT show but suddenly it's more like 'Korea's got talent'
I agree they should have picked a song that better showcased their talents. Minsu and Sungjun didn't even rap. I think part of the problem is that they did advertise this as a reboot show and so many fans for different groups are desperate for their group to be recognized and succeed that truly need a rebooting. I really liked the actor. He has a really fun personality, but he didn't have talent. Even the judges said he didn't have talent and letting him through was going to cause controversy, but they let him through anyway. Minsu, they said he was talented, but didn't look at them, which I do think eye contact is important, but it rubs people as wrong when they say he is talented and don't pass him and say another contestant isn't talented and pass him. But all that being said, I knew what the outcome was ahead of time, but they were so close to a superboot which kind of makes it harder that the judges didn't pass all of them too. I don't think they deserved a superboot with that performance, but I still think they all did well enough to have received at least one vote from the judges to move on. The other problem though is that we don't know how much was cut and how much was shown so we might not be getting the full story either.
Are they not allowed to perform their own song? They should've performed The Real One instead of this :( I like their performance but it's really lacking and imo, it didn't properly showcase their talents. Minsu and Sunwoo were better than this and I just couldn't feel Boys Republic in this performance. I really love and support them so I hope at least one of them debuts into The Unit. They deserve so much more and it breaks my heart to see them compete here :( I personally saw them perform like 2-3 years ago and they really do their best wherever they are.
Some people in the comments saying this deserved a super boost? Ehh... their performance was nothing exceptional. It wasn’t bad, but not that good either. Their voices sound all very average and non-distinctive which made the performance fall flat.
