Now I can see why everybody was so shocked that this is her first ever musical. Solar carried her role perfectly! The emotions, hand gestures, facial expressions were on point. Not to mention the vocals and her singing style definitely changed for this show. I’m sorry BUT I NEED TO SEE MOREㅠㅠㅠ
Now i know why byul was crying for her.. It was her first musical but it doesnt look like it was her first. You can really see how hard she work and prepare for it every detail is excellent, everything is beautiful!!
Yahh that part is my favorite she nailed it totally i also love how she seamlessly take off parts of her wardrobe which adds a elegant vibe.. So dance is called baratnatyam, i just finish searching thanks for the info..
@@varsharavishankar1222 it's so hard to find Indian fan here I have been searching for someone to notice the bharatanatyam details in the video But sadly no one does Let's cheer for our solar next musical ❤️👍
For those wandering, why there are many indian and south asian references in 'mata hari ' evident from the indian god 'nataraja ' at the back.mata Hari means sun from the malay language .She had no Indonesian or indian ancestry and her parents were both dutch but She posed as a Javanese princess of priestly Hindu birth, pretending to have been immersed in the art of sacred Indian dance since childhood.Although Mata Hari's claims about her origins were fictitious, it was very common for entertainers of her era to invent colourful stories about their origins as part of the show.
She did live in Indonesia for a while in her life, and studied Indonesian culture and dances. So imo, she's just bringing pieces of culture she learnt from her time in other countries abroad, just like most people now but since it was WW1, she did what she had to do to survive
@@solaristhemainvocal6981 she posed herself as from Hindu origin... And was performing Hindu dances.. She claims her name was given by a mother in India who taught her dance... This is not exactly true... But she did have Indian elements in her. Dnscing
As a Turkish girly, belly dancing is a big part of our culture and in general the middle east and she danced absolutely beautiful and she really fitted this concept. I really enjoyed watching her it was so beautiful and breathtaking ❤️
She worked hard for this and for all she does, is not that "she is talented" so she doesn't have to do anything because it's all her talent, right? Omg so talented! No, so hardworking and awesome. She didn't wake up one day being capable of all this with her talent. She had talent and passion that gave her the right push to work hard to improve . I hate when everyone says of idols "omg so talented!" , like it's only talent that made them what they are, they didn't sweat for all this at all. Please .
@@SolarisYang "she had talent and passion, and that gave her the right push to work hard and improve" my words, so you're basically repeating what I'm saying. Maybe I didn't write it in the right way because English is my 4th language, but I'm not "crazy" , I do suffer from PTSD, chronic depression and anxiety, but this has nothing to do with being "crazy" (a very offensive word, in my opinion) or with the discussion. I was trying to say that everyone says to idols "omg how talented" without recognizing their passion, their hard work... You can't arrive where they are with only talent. I know that, because I've been really talented for singing my whole life, so it was easier for me when I started singing lessons at 11, but then, the more I would go forward, the more the lessons would be difficult and talent alone didn't help me. Now I'm a professional singer and a vocal coach btw, but I'm not here only because I was born with talent. Same for all the idols whose people refer to "they're so talented" or "you have to listen to her/his music, she/he' so talented" etc.
She did amazing, especially since Solar admits dancing is not her strongest suit, you'd never think it with this performance. It really shows no matter how big or small, Solar will put 120% in everything she chooses to pursue
Mata Hari was born in a small town in northern Holland in 1876, and her real name was Margaretha Geertruida Zelle. She worked as a german spy. The Dutch exotic-dancerturned-spy took on Mata Hari as a stage name and gained quite the reputation for her provocative and seductive performances across Europe. During that time, she took on many important men as lovers. In her reports to her French handlers, Mata Hari described how she seduced Arnold von Kalle, a senior German diplomat, among other important figures. Accused of spying for Germany, she was executed in the October of 1917 by a firing squad at the age of 41.
FYI She learn Javanese traditional dance while she lives in Indonesia and move to Paris, then she started using that dance to seduce and performing across Europe while be a spy.
@@Rae_ar java is a country to full of Indian culture and indian people and there is many temples . So she know everything about indian culture and indian temple dance. She did learn indian temple dance and use indian name matahari . Matahari means ledies goddes. I'm saying that she is adapting indian culture and performing it's by her dance act.
She outperformed. When Solar does something, she's not just doing it she gives her 200%, and that's what she did in this musical I watched a couple of clips like this one and im already speechless, can't wait to watch the whole thing
She has no Genre, she is Everything. After years of watching SOLAR I am still surprised at her diversity and the super high talented quality in all her diversity, From Kpop, Pole Dancing, Instrumentals, Super Strong Soloist, MATA HARI and a boat load of surprises on her RU-vid channel.
Mata hari is hindu artist she claimed herself as daughter of hindu temple dancer and she originally came from Netherlands..! This is for those who was confused! As you can see behind her there's Nataraj symbol (Lord shiva) )It was a symbol of Indian culture and was also named the lord of dance! Well I'm addicted with Solar's this performance....°-°..!!!
her singing in that last song gave me goosebumps all over. it's hard to believe she got into singing later than most idols and then became this amazing. Go solar unnie!!!
Wow!! This was visually entertaining. Solar was bewitching in her dance scene, she was so gorgeous. She nailed her debut as a musical actress. Everyone was talented. Kudos to all the cast 👏
I’m a Solar’s fan but dangg the general’s voice is just as lovely and full of emotions!! Mind you, I don’t speak nor do I understand Korean but I certainly felt his emotions 😍
Solar so talented and amazing, this is probably one of the hardest role to debut as because you need to dance, sing and act well but it really doesn't feel like her first time as a rookie that had 2 months to practice this. Truly incredible how much hard work she put into everything she do
obviously since its a "musical play", the actors have to be able to sing and act, most plays has dancing in them too. What makes this role difficult is the theme and concept, but i got what you mean. Its impressive how she portray matahari as her debut.
Ooo I know this story. Actually she is a Dutch woman where she is married and lives in Indonesia. While there she was very fond of dancing and she also had the stage name Matahari. Matahari means "Sun". In short she suddenly left Indonesia and finally she was hired as a spy and took advantage of his abilities as a dancer
solar is so exceptional at everything she does. mata hari is clearly an amazing, emotional musical and I'm so proud of solar for presenting the character so well
mata hari sounds like everything's good for me but like in kind of incorrect grammar way in my language so whenever they say mata hari i just have to smile.
Did not one person notice the dance form here is inspired from Indian dance the pose from 0:25 I literally have a statue of God with the pose like that. And that God is like the goddess of dance. And also the back up dancers hands at 3:15 that's the same in bharatnatyam. Conclusion the dance was a mixture of Arabic and Indian dance forms. And to the people saying she culturally appropriated I don't think so. She didn't mock or made fun of it she just played the character who culturally appropriated at that time.
THIS WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME?! AS AN INDIAN the Arabic and Indian vibes were Hella strong but that's what mata hari did. Solar embodied the character!!!! Absolutely slayedddd like a queen she is 💜👑.
@@meuigot17carats24 only the starting position is inspired or directly taken from our cultural dances like kathak. Mata hari was not indian or Arabic but a white German exotic dancer who came to these countries and stole a few steps and made a choreography of her own. She incorporated the dance with strip dancing. So this isn't Indian dancing. As an Indian I'm saying this bestie.
@@alishashashasha6909 but she did say she was from Indian origin (for the sake of publicity) not truth... But her dance did have Indian elements.. Claiming that she was born "in the south of India...the child of a family within the sacred caste of Brahma," she changed her name to Mata Hari.
@@trufan100 Mata hari is from holland(now the Netherlands) none of her family had Indian background, she learned most of her dance from Indonesia were she lived for a bit before moving to Paris
I agree with you..... For a second i was like WHAT ?? Mata hari ??? I didn't even knew it's something related to Indonesia. I don't know about dance but the music is really similar to indian music because it has some tunes of sitar, and santoor maybe.... Cuz it sounds like that.
Is she the lead in this musical? As expected! Solar did more than good! Everything's perfect, she really did great! And she's so happy. I hope she'll have more musical projects. Soar high, Solar-ssi!
Yes she is the lead. As most large scale musicals, lead actors share the roles with other actors so they could have days off. She shares the Matahari role with Ock Joohyun.
Ooh My God!!!!!! Solar is amazing, She nailed this role in every way! But can we also talk about the other performers? They were all fantastic, not to talk about that male singer, the general (sorry I don't know his name)! He was mind blowing, literally. Everything was simply perfect: Solar, the male singer, and all the other actors/singers/dancers as well. My compliments to all of them👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
