@@brianyang627 pale skin, v shape jaw, slim figure etc. Its important for people who go outside to br acknowledged, no one should be force to look like the standard in any case. People have lost jobs because they aren't the standard of beauty of their country. Judging a standard of beauty shouldn't be an issue, korean or not or whatever, like the European standard of beauty, can people not judge it simply because they are not white/european? Especially when the standard of beauty specifically impacts POC rather than white people?

@@brianyang627 the beauty standards, especially for performing idols(and by extension the backup dancers as well) are very extreme in korea. In fact, even hwasa was the subject of criticism for pretty long until she managed to carve out her own standard and became a new face of beauty ("alternative" beauty i guess?) in korea, and her company got more lenient about her appearance. For being tanned and being slightly heavier than most idols, she was already being criticised, despite her weight being perfectly healthy. The culture is EXTREMELY toxic and unhealthy, with companies forcing (particularly women idols) to be ~45kg or not even be considered regardless of their talent, which is ridiculous especially when applied to taller idols. If youve seen pd101, they do things like grab the girl rookies waists to determine if they are skinny enough, and actually call out those who arent. Its real and sad
