i know it's mentioned everywhere but i still think it's worthy to mention that mamamoo themselves always have a say in their stage outfits in that they participate in making decisions too. so part of their coordination i believe comes from each of them personally having a clear idea of their own style as well as the kinds of fitting that suits themselves the most. i too find it amazing that not only do their outfits reflect their unique personality but they look cohesive, and i think thats a challenging feat considering they'll have to cycle through countless outfits. and while the looks are different each time, i like how there's still an underlying tone for all 4 of them that indicates certain constant similarities in the style of clothing each person tends to go for.

One of the funny things is for years anyone paying attention realized that while Solar may be their visual, Moonbyul was making many women question their sexuality, and Hwasa was oozing confident sex appeal, but Wheein was low-key beautiful and sexy too. She was just kind of overshadowed a bit as the other members kind of built up their personas over the years. It seems though that either Wheein has grown more confident in herself over the last year or two or the company has finally made a conscious decision that Wheein can be featured more.

@@ummok75 Where to start. I could write a book on this, but you probably aren't here to read a book...lol. Most of the time this is how the members would be listed. Solar - Main Vocalist, Leader, Visual Moonbyul - Main Rapper, Vocalist Wheein - Lead Vocalist Hwasa - Vocalist, Rapper, Maknae In reality though Solar, Wheein, and Hwasa are like having three main vocalists in the same group and Moonbyul is actually a very good vocalist and while her singing voice is deep and husky, she would really be closer to a lead vocalist in skill. Also, Solar, Wheein, and Hwasa can all rap quite well. Moonbyul is sometimes listed as the main dancer, but while this group can dance pretty well, they aren't a group that is primarily about dancing the way some girl groups are. If you are new to Mamamoo I would suggest the following videos to really learn a lot about them quickly. Really digs into what the group is like, how talented they are, and what makes them tick. Few K-pop groups appear multiple times on that show. It requires you to sing fully live in front of a band having done a modern rearrangement of a pop classic from decades ago in Korea. Only a few K-pop groups have the talent to do that really well. They have been on 14 times since 2015. Like some of the veteran singers on that show, I think they basically have an open invite or are regularly asked to appear. I think one of Mamamoo's advantages besides being extremely talented and great live performers is that for most of the group's history their concept was very unique and was so different from most girl groups at bigger companies that they were not thought of as direct rivals/competitors and therefore didn't end up with the kind of girl group fan wars that you often see with Twice/Red Velvet/Blackpink. Also for much of their company's history there was not a boy group of major consequence so they weren't collateral damage in a feud with fans of other boy groups hating on the company. I think that this combination of talent and seeming non-threatening to other groups/companies gave a lot of other groups' fans license to become a Mamamoo fan without feeling like they were betraying EXO, Monsta X, Twice, etc. I think that is part of why you see things like EXOLs or Blinks supporting them. Also, it probably doesn't hurt that the group is so damn talented and publicly respected by their peers in other groups that people realize it would be silly to not be a fan when the bias in a group their root for roots for them too.

Yep, it is a huge part of their appeal. Nearly all groups have pretty good singers, but few groups have the stage presence that Mamamoo has or the showmanship. It's a bit like when they go on stage they plant a big flag and say, "This is our stage now and we are going own it and while we do we are going to have a blast." Also people love going to their shows because seldom are two performances exactly alike they have the talent and the desire to try to make each show unique. It's a great strategy as you could go to see them at four different music festivals and each performance has something new even if it is just the way they ad lib to the crowd. It makes them a much hotter ticket for concerts and festivals as you want to see all their performances if you are a big fan as you don't want to miss them maybe doing a re-arrangement of a hit, seeing a cute improvisation between them, or catching the occasional funny mistake or attempt to get another member to laugh in the middle of a performance. The way they seem to love performing really excites fans.
