Imho, kpop fans were toxic back then too (take SNSD’s black ocean for example). It’s just now with internet being more available to the public which allows people to verbally attack others. But yeah, there are so many toxic people in kpop nowadays...
@@sk8032 other kpop artists are idols, PSY isn't an idol. Just cuz he is under , an idol has to be trained young, look attractive for young women, has a certain image to keep and songs image as well. PSY was never a trainee and didn't go through anything that idols usually have to to keep a certain image and are marketed towards a certain audience. How tf does PSY corresponds to anything related to idols ? the man literally does WHATEVER he wants to do on stage. He makes his own songs, and he doesn't target the same audience that idols do at ALL, nor does he even look like an idol. He is a Korean singer songwriter, also owner of a kpop company. not an idol and he never was one.
Psy is literally the guy who is responsible in introducing kpop to the whole world. Yes, he might not be the only one, but he definitely start the kpop wave across the whole world, followed by other 2nd gen artists
@@user-ef7mt4ge8i I have to disagree, psy was the only one who got people in so many countries to do his dance without even realising that it was Kpop. GG and SJ are great but not many people heard them during 2012/13 but they're more popular in their own country/asia.
Gangnam Style really strikes the world and until today, there still no K-pop idols/groups beating 4 billion plus views!! I will never forget PSY the legend himself.
PSY proved that one doesn’t need a perfect slim body and a face with a jaw line as long as the music is great people will love it. (I am not telling he is not handsome it’s sad but in Korea especially artist and idols have really hard time as people judge them by their looks)
Yea it's crazy. I didn't even know that alot of them do plastic face surgery. I always assumed that they looked like that naturally. But it's sad because at the end of the day they are fake.
Blackpink was the one who brought me to Kpop. Even though I wouldn't disagree about Psy impact, we should give credit to both BTS and BLACKPINK for bringing in Kpop.
BTS Jungkook brought me into kpop . (Yeap this was my first song but I didn't get into kpop untill last year when I discovered the boy JUNGKOOK by bts and that's when I gave a chance to bts and kpop)
I still remember how i used to sing wrong lyrics with full confidence and used to dance on this, listen this song without knowing it's a kpop song screw knowing this song i didn’t even knew something like Kpop existed that time. this song is nostalgia
M jb 7th class m tha tb ye song aaya tha or Aaj us baat ko 8 saal ho gye lkin aaj bhi ise sunte waqt asa lgta h jse m aaj bhi 7th class m hu... Wht a wonderful song ❤️
@@gabrielbutas6138 nope ,they enjoy awards like that ,but now ,people ship the idols together and that will make them uncomfortable that’s why awards show now are boring
And what a complete bunch of pricks they look . You need style like PSY to carry off those fashions ,... not everyone looks ' cool' .. just because they wear sunglasses .
@@priscillalee5233 Because they look exactly what they are ...'They can't even dance . A right couple of ' Ooooh , look at me ' knobheads ........Might be ok where they are .. but most places people would laugh out loud !... but then I'm old , european ... but still love Psy .. true talent ( and he knows how to dress !
@@nigelwake306 we all have different tastes and different eras had different trends. I wasn’t into Kpop at the time but if I’m not mistaken, they were trendsetters. I respect that you have a different preference but it’s not nice to be rude🤗
RM and Suga are watching this from their homes and Thinking to be as cool as PSY and dreaming to perform at the MAMA .PSY paved the way for them in the worldwide market as kpop genre.
@@savageyoongles3097 Because when they lived together they both used to watch mama and think to perform there and it was before debuting so in 2012 PSY releasing a legendary song and performing it everyone will look forward to it
@@kinjal899 Yes obviously they paved their way .Nobody did it like BTS but the Kpop genre got paved because of PSY 9 years before I danced the hell out of this song but didn't know it was kpop .Everyone in my school knew this song and it was middle east. But now 9years later I found out this is kpop .BTS is self made I know but I said this gave an exposure to kpop worldwide. I know it's a joke if I said they paved in Korea no never .It's because of army's support they reached here and their BS&T
