I literally know nothing about BTOB, so today I've been looking at BTOB videos for the first time for some reason. It's interesting to see the different levels of English that groups speak. In NCT, you have all levels, from fluent to barely any skills whatsoever (funny enough, the group struggles with Korean just as much as they do English because they have so many foreigners LOL). I don't know any of the BTOB members, and I am very much interested to know the name of the member who talks to Peniel in the chair in the very first clip. He's very handsome, and I have no idea what his name is! Can someone help me?
Hello! First of all, welcome to the world of BTOB and Melody! Just a short intro about us fans, and in case you don't know, BTOB stands for Born to Beat, as if they're born into music. So the fans are named Melody, as without a melody, beats are useless, aren't they? About the members: The very first video you mentioned where Peniel was on the chair (0:15) - Seo Eunkwang, born in 1990, leader of BTOB, the oldest and one of the main vocalists! He was the first to enlist into military in August 2018, kicking off BTOB's 3-years group military hiatus though the remaining members did release a special album without him at the end of 2018. He recently was named a director of BTOB's signed company, Cube Entertainment, in order to protect the company's artists and their rights. Next we have Yook Sungjae (1:07), if you're an avid watcher of kdramas you may find him familiar! The youngest of the group, born in 1995. (Though the youngest but he doesn't act like one, you'll understand why if you were to watch more of BTOB videos!) Also a vocalist of the group and is obsessed with the number 6 as his surname, Yook, literally also means 6 in Korean! (He even had 66 photocards design in his solo album released in Mar 2020) He recently enlisted in May 2020 and is scheduled to be discharged in Nov 2021. Up next we have Lee Changsub (1:45). Another vocalist of the group and the 3rd oldest, he knew Eunkwang since their school days as they trained in the same vocal-training school (Modern K) and luckily passed the auditions of Cube and debuted in the same group as well! Changsub enlisted last Jan and was just discharged in Aug 2020. Being friends for the longest time, Eunkwang and he tend to do.... some questionable yet hilarious stuffs (Check out Silver and Golden Axe - NANGMAN OPPA) Next we have Jung Ilhoon (6:28). The 2nd youngest of the group, born in 1994, and a rapper, he composed many of BTOB's songs (and his songs are really, really amazing) Some notable songs of his are Movie, The Feeling, The Winter's Tale, Love Drunk and the list goes on! His sister is ballad singer JOO and they were often mistaken as a couple. He enlisted in May 2020 as well and is scheduled to discharge in Feb 2022 Next we have Im Hyunsik (or Lim Hyunsik both works) (13:47), F for Funsik? Hyunsik is actually pretty fluent in English and a little of Mandarin as he studied in China for a couple of years before. Born in 1992, he is known as the eagle of the group, as no matter who the leader is, everyone just tends to listen to him. Dubbed as BTOB's Father of Music, he is another fellow composer who wrote the legendary trio-ballad songs that brought BTOB to another level of fame: Missing You, Only One For Me and Beautiful Pain. Also a fellow vocalist and he enlisted with Sungjae on the same day and is also scheduled to discharge on the same day as him. And we have Lee Minhyuk (15:18), the second oldest, born in 1990, but only has his birthday exactly a week later than Eunkwang's. He is also known as the mom of BTOB as he tends to be more detailed in taking care of the younger members. He is mostly known as the athletic idol who broke many records of the Idol Star Athletics Competition that was normally held near Korea's Thanksgiving, but that led him to many injuries like his knees. Despite that, he took the conscripted police test and enlisted as a police officer in Feb 2019, and was recently discharge in Sep 2020. He also wrote a few of BTOB's songs and the most notable few are Climax, Open, Blue Moon. He also wrote all of the 12 songs he recorded in his solo album, HUTAZONE, which was released in Jan 2019, prior his enlistment the following month. Of course lastly, we have our American boy, Peniel! The 3rd youngest, born in 1993, he was the last to join BTOB, only a few months before their debut. But regardless that, the members welcomed the rapper with open arms and doted on him even more, given his nationality. Peniel tends to be quiet in Korean interviews as he always claims that his Korean isn't good enough (but very honestly, he is alright), so the members will try to speak some broken English to get him feel involved. And though he isn't the youngest, they really do treat him like one, like how the 6 of them argued about who would bring him home for Korea's Thanksgiving holiday as he wasn't heading home to the States and would be left alone after everyone headed home. maybe he's passively understand but it's kinda hard for him to speak his mind in english since he doesn't use it in everyday life, it's like your mind working well buy your tounge don't want to cooperate.
Same here...i fell inlove with changsub after sungjae...but as i know them better... I realize that each of them is a bias wrecker, which means my bias list always change😂
Peniel is soo cute omg 😭 I’m a new fan of this group. I’m so upset that I waited so long to stan. I’ve first heard about them when they collaborated with MX.
