Normally I don’t like when people are like “oh that’s MJ” cuz MJ is legendary and everyone takes a piece of him with them. BUT, this is straight out of the MJ playbook. The sound, the moves, the way he sings.. and I love it. The music is 70’s influenced in general. I’m here for this Jungkook.. and to think he almost didn’t do this song!

10:46 she’s in all white… he’s in all black… angels and demons or opposing sides…. Similar to how 3D had black and white representing chess. He’s singing about not letting people hold them back from their love…. Her side was fighting with his side…. Trying to keep them apart. Regardless in both the beginning and the end… they’re together. The lyrics and the video make it pretty obvious on what’s going on at surface level. Jungkook is in black the whole time and he’s not evil… just showing opposing sides imo. Modern day star crossed lovers?

I’m an old throw back myself lol! But aside from that funky beat that was in so many songs in the 80’s I can’t think of anything specific. More than the usual nods to the King of Pop, MJ. And nicely done. But since the album is said to highlight JK’s most golden moments, I am looking at the past. The tunnel reminded me of the “Run” tunnel. And of course I thought of Black Swan. And “deeper than the DNA”. I mean, ARMY will be separated and he knows our love will pass the test of time…But the modern Romeo and Juliet theory probs makes more sense lol.- One more thing. Remember the dance number BTS did early 2015, white military style suits? They danced to a Lim Bizkit song? Not even their own. But they had a “rewind” in that dance kind of like the limo drivers. (But I think BTS really did a true live reversal. Not 100% sure.) But still a reversal.

I really enjoyed your reaction! This song is such a banger and the music video is perfection! So proud of our golden maknae, Jungkook! HIs voice and his dance moves...so clean and smooth! There is a part of this song (background musci) that somehow sounds familiar and brings me back to the past. Although it's funny that you mentioned Romeo & Juliet, because I did see some screenshots on Twitter comparing the MV stage scene to scenes in Romeo & Juliet (the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio)! The song and MV gave me a host of vibes. The black wings and stage reminded me of "Black Swan" MV. Parts of the choreography seemed to pay homage to MJ and his moves. The song reminded me of the beats from the 80's, for sure.

Hey Celeste, I think the girl represents ARMY and that he and BTS are the not so pure angel on the stage (six backup dancers plus him at the center - his position), promising to stand next to ARMY. I think the limo and the drivers represent the music industry leaders or world leaders who are fighting and causing chaos. Notice ARMY keeping eyes on the stage instead of at the chaos surrounding her. The girl is of non-descript ethnic origin which think is purposeful. The limo drivers are very diverse which represent the diversity of countries. Just my thoughts.

I just realized when you were going thru the MV the 2nd time-things are in reverse-the drivers fighting remind me of 'beat it' (an mj song) the reverse part is like going back in time-remember the time (another mj song) since there are a ton of mj references..or maybe I'm delulu haha just a thought heavy mj references smooth criminal, beat it, remember the time, Billie jean, Thriller, Rock w/ You etc Bottom line-JK came & that MAN AaaTe!! Hi Rosan, I’ve been following you since FOREVER and I know you’re ARMY, and Im trying to be respectful but may I ask why did you post your SNTY reaction within the 24 hr release “rule”? I believe it’s the first time you didn’t following this known ARMY reactor rule. I think the throw back is Warren G's Regulate or Michael McDonalds I keep forgetting increased tempo. The entire mvid reminds me of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet scenes which definitely link well with the lyrics of they cant divide us.. so Shakespearian with lyrics: We'll survive the test of time They can't deny our love They can't divide us...
