They have been around since 2013 but started to gain popularity in the US during 2016/17 time frame. Standing next to you is the title track of his solo album, Golden released last Nov. I loved your reaction to JK (Jungkook of BTS) and Usher. I saw that you reacted to BTS's Mic Drop. All members of BTS have solo careers and still maintain their group. Each member is unique from each other and all are super talented. They are all in the military at the moment and should be out in 2025. They are the number one group in the world due to their fans (ARMY), They do many different genres and have been together over 10 years without the help of the music industry machine. They have done this themselves with the help of ARMY. I went down the BTS rabbit hole 3 years ago and their messages and lyrics saved me. You will hear this a lot. I didn't realize how America is in its own little bubble shut off from the music, and arts from the rest of the world. When I finally discovered what talent is beyond the U.S., I was blown away. I am 70 and I was missing out before. I kept thinking I must have been living under a rock. BTS synergy is explosive on "live" stage performances. Check out Outre Tear live at Wembly (their rap line rapping about the time they almost disbanded. RM, JHope and Suga were so emotional). YES! love Jung Kook ( pronounced “Jeon Guk”) and BTS! They’re amazing! Jung Kook is the youngest in the KPOP group BTS. He released his first solo album last November so you guys should definitely check it out! Songs on the album are completely english. BTS are icons and are SO talented, while being so humble and down to earth. To start, I Highly recommend watching their MV for Black Swan or ON. It will leave you speechless. Really proves that music is universal, no matter the language barrier. BTS members are currently serving in the military in South Korea (mandatory enlistment in South Korea) and won’t be back until summer 2025. so the live performance with Usher for this song will not happen for a while, if it does happen 🥲 but the collab is LEGENDARY.

As for your question, in my opinion yes, you both have been missing out on some amazing music. Jungkook is in a kpop group called BTS, each one of the members have their own solo albums out as well as things they have done together as a group. In order for you to really know if you've been missing out you'd have to react to them as a group as well as their solo music. Honestly though, I feel like you both would really enjoy it. Since you've started with Jungkook, I recommend checking out his newest album "Golden". To me its a no skip album, every song on it is amazing and really takes you back to how music used to sound. I'm excited to see if you decide to take this journey or not. If so I, as well as many other army (BTS fandom name) will be there right along with you! We are a very helpful fandom and very dedicated to helping people through everything, but please keep in mind where there is good, there is also bad. I think you would enjoy the music video to the original version of this song as well as his videos for the songs Seven, Hate You, and 3D. He also has a video for his song Dreamers that he did for the Soccer World Cup in 2022, but you will have to blur that video because it was released through the World Cup soccer organization (FIFA) and not through his regular label. He also has hundreds of songs with his group BTS. If you like to see the dancing then I recommend The dance practice video for Run BTS, or BTS’ On Kinetic Manifesto (with the closed captions turned on for English Subtitles)

Also I know a lot of ppl recommend the times square performance and it is amazing if you understand how hard it is to dance with raw vocals and low back music, but in terms of showcasing his live vocals it's not his best imo. I would recommend iheart radio for vocal performance of this song and Jimmy Fallon for his dance performance for this song live.
