Jimin, like many people, had a hard time during the pandemic. He admitted he started drinking too much. The song reflects his wanting to stay in the feeling of the alcohol and maybe partying to escape his perfectionism, loneliness and depression💜
I was actually surprised by how accurate they were without needing to meet Jimin 😮😮 . I loved it!! I recommend you react to Set me free pt 2, which is part of their album FACE, or failing that, react to the complete FACE. There are only 6 songs and it has an order that reflects a meaning in each song. He wanted to show his most sincere emotions that he had during the pandemic.
His album reflected his dark feelings during the pandemic. So he wanted to reflect the emotions he wanted to convey but adding a bit more to the story line for the mv. You almost have to listen to his ep album for his story telling. This song went #1 in Billboard hot 100 & continues to break some records. Thank you!

I love your interpretation. You guys got it really quick. Jimin is a great storyteller. I think you got exactly what he wanted. He was stuck, he was lonely, he knew it wasn’t healthy but he wanted to stay in it longer, he needed it. He sings in a few different tones but it’s always distinctively unique and recognizable. The best thing with Jimin is you never know what he will bring next. You should definitely listen to his album in chronological order & read the synopsis on it. It tells a story of one of his darkest moments.

♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” he watched during pandemic, inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings, with voice over actors using dialogue more in tune with song, from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe, since dirt or mud means despair, that was what all the dirty grimyness including on his hands in the end, also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.
Jimin spiraled into a heavy drinking depression during the pandemic, after their world tour was cancelled and they were separated from ARMY. The whole album is diving into the darkness of his pandemic stories and climbing out again. This song is an escapist fantasy. He said this album was darker and he will try to bring brighter music next time. He enlisted in the military along with Jungkook yesterday. They went in on a buddy system and will be serving their time together. The day before them, V and RM went in. V actually signed up for an anti-terror special forces unit, like a commando or black ops unit. So now all members are enlisted and serving. All are serving 18-21 months. They will start returning in 6 months when Jin gets out. Jin keeps getting promoted early for exemplary service and is now a Sergeant. j-hope is currently a Corporal and he will be next out a few months after Jin.

fr, it's an anthem song. i love listening to it while working out or simply running. actually, the whole FACE album is good work out album, he really managed to make an EP of songs of different genres actually sound cohesive😭 Set Me Free pt 2 is now my favorite actually, it's just so good it actually upstaged LIE to me which is my queen of Jimin's songs for half a decade lmao. Like Crazy is of course the mother of all songs, it's like a maze where you can re-listen and find something new to appreciate but SMF PT2 just personally strikes something in me.

YAAAAY I've missed you guys. First of all I think we'd all love to see that outfit. Getting into the meaning of the song. This is part of Jimin's solo debut album "Face". The album is abt his feelings and thoughts during the pandemic. I was actually really surprised at how in depth and spot on some of your analysis were. "Like Crazy" is the thrid track of the album, and the album is telling a story of the evolution of how he dealt with the pandemic. Right before the start of the pandemic BTS had 2 major things on their minds THE MAP OF SOUL TOUR (which was supposed to be their biggest tour yet) and their mandatory military enlistments which was approaching fast. Due to the pandemic, their tour and all their promotional plans for their last project before enlisting were cancelled. However SK passed a law which aloud singers and performers to delay their service until the age 30 instead of 28, as long as they were recipients of the "Order of cultural merit" given by the SK goverment, which meant BTS got to be together for ~ 2 more years bc they had already received that award (the youngest to do so). Since the album is a full story and narrative it's important to point out that the previous track is an interlude which ends with the sounds of him alone in his room pouring himself a drink. This track then starts, as you guys observed, a drunk dreamy night. He's intoxicated and lost in this dream trying to escape reality. The song also took inspiration from the movie Like Crazy (2011), he says he thought the movie was going to be romantic and sweet but it's a very realistic depiction of a break up. The first and last line in the song are dialogues from the movie F: I think we could last forever (wishing to keep dreaming and not facing reality) M: I'm afraid that everything will disappear (fear of being alone) F: Just trust me (refusal to face the loneliness and continue dreaming) After the song ends, he's sobering up and being met with reality again, M: Alone again. What's the point? The next track is titled "Alone". Like I said, the entire album is a chronological story of him during the pandemic. He has said and opened up abt how hard the pandemic was for him and the other members, having all their plans cancelled, all their dance practices in preparation for the tour.... pointless, not being able to see or perform for ARMY. He has talked abt how he started to drink a lot more and was really sad. He eventually got over it when they went to perform their PTD concert in Vegas after the Pandemic and it was also the reason he was able to release this album in the first place. It comes full circle. I love the MV, it's beautiful but also kinda haunting in a way.

Yay! You're back and doing Jimin's Like crazy. This was a great reaction. All your interpretation were almost spot on. The synthe track with the ziggy sounds reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera kind of a vibe. Jimin's voice timbre has high harmonics and he hits it on a higher octave. He can definitely growl and rock it out with his very cool lower register, his vocal range is insane. Jimin has a mezmerising stage presence and is a master performer. Watch all this happening in the MV for Set Me Free Part 2. His Face album showcases his vocal range.

His was the first voice that grabbed my attention in group songs. His solo songs Lie, Serendipity and Filter are among my favorite BTS songs & live performances. He’s done low & growly too on BTS songs but not very often. To me, the song & MV brought to mind avoidance/escapism behaviors (drinking/partying, “wasting time”, putting on a brave/happy face, etc) ppl often use to delay dealing with emotional pain. I liked how you quickly caught on that he was the “life of the party” guy at the club yet he was the loneliest. Most reactions I’ve seen miss that.
Jimin's EP "FACE" is a concept album and really needs to be listened to from top to bottom. It tells his story of how he felt during the pandemic and how he dealt with it. His bandmates encouraged him to express/examine how he was feeling by writing music. There is a documentary on how he wrote this album.
A good suggestion is Tiny Desk concert where all 7 perform 3 songs with a live band. You’ll really get a good taste of their synergy and raw vocals. Also 2021 Festa Room Live is a melody of their B side tracks which are all favorites ❤

JIMIN struggled alot during the pandemic and he was drinking alot, this song describes how he felt when he was drunk and he didn't want to come out of that state back to the real world, The members knew he was going through a hard time but they just kept an eye on him knowing this was his way of coping but they were there if he needed them. 💜🔥🤎

As of Dec 12th all members of BTS will have enlisted in the military. Jin comes out in June of 24 and jhope in October of 24 then suga will be out around the same time as the last four members RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook. Suga has to serve 22 months instead of the 18 months as the rest serve because he's in as a public service worker. He did that because of his shoulder injury he had. So all members should be out of the military by June of 25.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Like Crazy takes inspiration from a movie by the same name. The beginning and end of the MV actually has quotes from the movie. Jimin said he thought the movie was going to be a fun romance, but it turned out to be something else. I still haven't watched it yet because I heard it's pretty emotional, lol.
Like Crazy is reflects his feminine and masculine side,that´s why when he sees himself in the mirror he talks about his reflection and the ´she´he says about himself

Like Crazy is one of the songs in his latest solo album released March 2023. Set me free Pt2 in the same album is another you should definitely check. Personally I would recommend you to start with his earlier songs first before coming back to the newer release, so you can understand why this album surprised ARMY with its much darker image & different choice of songs compare to his previous solos Lie, Serendipity, Filter are the solo songs that you can check out which each demonstrate his unique vocal. While the MVs/studio recordings are great, I would say checking his live performances would be the best way to understand his captivating stage presence. When you listen to other BTS songs/live performances, I'm sure there will be numerous times you will find his voice stands out a lot.

I believe that to fully appreciate Jimin as an artist is to watch his life performances and dance videos. Have a look at Serendipity, Lie, Filter...
