considering to get this guitar, not available in Australia. Thinking to import from korea. Where does it stand compared to Martin OM series?? Any input would be much appreciated Thanks you all.
I haven't done a sound comparison with an OM but I take my A8 to performances and most colleagues (Martin and Taylor owners) are very impressed with the sound. It comes strung with DAddario EXP16 and sounds great out of the box.
@@NoName-rg7bw I bought this a year ago in the sunburst version. I tried a Guild OM120 (if I recall correctly) but I wasn't a fan of the sound. This guitar produces a sound that I can only describe as a "studio quality sound". I was and still am absolutely amazed by the tones this instrument can produce (and of course it's looks). I initially thought it would be lacking in bass, but put it in drop D and it has that kick in the bass that you want out of it! I play many tunes from Tommy Emmanuel and Thom Bresh to Eric Clapton and John Mayer, and this guitar just fits all. All in all, I can only recommend this guitar!
@@robbertvanderburg4118 how is bass and trebles in higher up the fretboard? I’ve heard pau ferro gets very honky in high pitches But the overtones sound so good in the vid
@@onurag7176 I've tested this, and have found that chords and harmonies that are played really up high (around 12th fret) do indeed sound a little bit honky. This could be because I am usually tuning mine using the GuitarTuna app, and therefore my tuning could be inprecise. However in playing single melody lines, you don't really hear any honkyness.
