Man, the magic god Othinus arc has to be the pinnacle for touma's character, it's where he finally broke for the first time, and decided to act selfish for his own well being from there on.
@@Kamiyan4713 maybe... But the main reason that it's too hard to make an touhou anime that can fully got the incidents right. I mean, TMOF is one of the most popular Touhou fanmade anime and you can see... It has some points where it messed up
@@queenkira1272 yeah, besides there is just too many touhou games that it would be pretty hard to adapt them into a full fledged anime, it's not really that important anyways. But gotta give props to the fans for being so dedicated to the game that they made their own fanmade anime, and load of other fanmade games. Not to mention some mangas here and there... Oh and don't get me started on the doujinshis, lol.
God I loved this arc! At the time these were the most impossible odds Touma had ever faced. He experienced something no human had ever faced before, he lived innumerable lifetimes, was broken and learned to be selfish for his own sake, to fight not for someone else, but for himself. He faced down a god, taught that god to care, then faced the whole world just to save her. It's stuff like this that really make me love A Certain World.
He also gained a new ability from being killed millions / maybe billions of times; he's saw every death imagineable and now has precognition from his experience being increased millions fold
Ngl as long as we have the novels, mangas and other good stuff the series has as well as this amazing fandom im happy :) (although for sure i wish we could get a good NT anime)
@@pierocolombo2643 To be honest I'm bit hoping the reason they take so long for NT anime is because they're trying to be careful looking for the best studio / animator after the disaster they did with S3. For now I'm just happy with fandom's passionate creations for this franchise like Tatararashi animated video, MADs, etc.
This Tata guy is a beast, the soundtrack fits so well with the animation. This masterpiece must had gone through a lot of work. Othinus was really great here, cute animation. If Index got NT anime soon, this arc might just make the magic side popular. 2:12 Never really thought much of the amount damage Touma took in the novels. I know the novel have pretty gruesome details of his suffering, but seeing it visually is something else.

Thank you for making this, it's truly beautiful, some scenes are even better than what I imaginated while reading Saw this first on Aeon's channel, gonna copy my comment here: Ever since I've read NT9, I've imagined the "It bothers me" scene as a Monogatari-like sequence, with the wall of text flashing on the screen while Touma speaks Now I'll add to that the arcade sequence, it's just a perfect idea I love when anime play with their visuals, and a game over screen popping up over and over for each time Touma dies and tries again fits too well with that I can only hope that, whenever we get a new season, the people behind it share even some of the love you have for the series Again, thanks for your animations :)
Glad to see someone who related NT9 with Monogatari. I have always thought Kizumonogatari and Othinus Arc were very similar. That's why I believe the only one who can do justice to this arc is Shaft studio.
@@Aleister.Crowley @Piero Colombo Well, the Othinus arc has also a similar conclusion to the Kizu trilogy, and Touma learns about saving himself in NT9, which is the central theme of Araragi's character growth in the entire series For the NT anime in general tho, I'd honestly be fine with JC Staff, but only if they give it similar quality to Railgun T (and realistically I doubt they would want to lose the rights to the franchise, Railgun still makes a lot of money I think) My ideal NT adaptation would start with a two-cour season (at least lol) ending on NT8 Imagine the ending song playing while Ollerus hits Othinus with the fairy spell, everyone thinks they've won, but then the song stops, Othinus creates Gungnir and ends the world. Silence, the screen goes black, and the season ends in a massive cliffhanger Then we get a massive movie for NT9, hopefully with external help from Shaft/David Production (some of the Monogatari staff went to work on Fire Force I think) Bonus points if they call Tata too
i spoiled myself of this part NT watching this but finishing NT it makes a lot of sense on what happens now but I really enjoy watching it almost 100 k views which is cool
It is, one of the best reads in light novel format ever imo. Definetly hoping that if it ever gets adapted in anime JC does it with all their heart and care

While most people are talking about the symbolism of the bullet hell game. I want to call to attention just how genius it is that the redo coins are made of cardboard. Each redo is something Othinus herself gives Touma, and the coins being cardboard shows just how cheaply she was treating his life. Yet at the same time also shows just how humble Touma himself is in the way he views his own life with such frivolousness. Its a small detial, yet quite a interesting one when you notice it.

3 months later and this is still and always will be a masterpiece. I love the symbolism with the coins and how it's a reference to how Touma's strategy on how to break othinus by always "trying again" and how the coins are wooden because that's how he sees his life as, which gets me everytime 😢. I also like how IB was symbolized as a garden tool (don't know the name of it😅) that is used for digging dirt, like how othinus was trying to dig through each phase to get back to her own. I also loved how bloody Touma showing the brutality he went through in NT10 to save othinus, and the short hand animation showing his determination to save othinus is the chefs kiss 😘. Plus the flower transition was nice since that's where Touma recommend othinus open a flower shop. I know you got this alot already but thank you for this wonderful masterpiece 🔥.
It's not a garden tool btw, it's a painter's knife. There was that talk Othinus and Touma had in NT9 where Othinus describes what Magic gods do in changing a world is like adding a new layer of paint on top of canvas and that's all they can do. Othinus can only 'create' new layers on top of the old one to imitate her original canvas, but she can't shave away the paint that was already there to get back to the actual original. To do that she needs Imagine Breaker aka the painter's knife capable of scraping away all the added layers and reveal the original she's looking for.
