Fact: My mixes don’t start with the best songs and then as you keep listening the “not as good” songs go to the back. But rather I order my mixes to tell a story. Happy thanksgiving! I released this mix a day early as a THANK YOU to all of my viewers on RPO. Making these weekly mixes wouldn’t be possible without you. Seriously, thank you all and I love you - have a great thanksgiving!
Use one of my my handmade animation on my channel now that would be really dope and my animations do repeat 🔁 and they are definitely on the vaporwave side maybe might be collabing with another dope artist 🙏🏾
I am reliving my childhood memories with emulators is the closest thing you can get IDC if it's illegal to pirate retro games that don't even exist anymore I am sure the FBI won't miss them and it won't effect companies in general I hate the modern and all digital age race. Yeah I am glad I was born in the generation of consoles and might go back to console gaming am so sick of having to buy a new computer just to continue PC gaming the whole PC Master Race thing is a failing idea.
They say water carries memory. This reminds me of being 8 years old and finding the Secret Aquarium for the first time and all those summer days I spent in my grandparents' pool. Life was better back then.
I've actually heard the same thing! And I've heard that when you freeze water, it resets the memory of it. But I remember doing the same with with my grandparents. I'd play the "cousins" N64 and play super mario and then go swimming on hot summer days. Amazing times!
Its very interesting how many memories I can acces with this audio/visual stimulations. I can feel those memories more that I can remember them. Thanks for this gift
Ahh yes! Brings me back to 97, hanging in my friends air conditioned basement playing sm64 on their giant projector tv, drinking cold coke from a can, munching on warheads and gushers… then spending the hot summer evening in the local swimming pool
The super Mario 64 dire dire docks theme is always so nostalgic. I know it’s supposed to be a happy/chill theme to listen to but sometimes it makes me cry just because it just brings back memories to my childhood and how good it was. Things were so much better back then and I wish I can go back
I feel you my Childhood wasn't the Greatest I went through a Divorced family that would always fight and the only peace I'd get was my Super Nintendo and N64
This hurts. Takes me back to playing super Mario 64 on a large CRT TV in the cold basement of my childhood home. Back when success and money didn't matter. I would get lost in this. I remember back in the 2000s-2010 thinking how nostalgic this was, but man year after year it just gets more and more nostalgic. One thing that really makes me sad is now that I am 32 I can't enjoy video games or that getting lost feeling as much as I used to. Nothing mattered, no pressure. All I had to do was get the next golden star. Everyone misses those times from this era, but I think half of it was being a kid and the other half was this time being so magical.
For anyone reading this. I miss that 90s feeling that carried till 2010. It was warm inviting. Felt like you could breath back then now. It’s heavy doc. I just wish I just pray that one day my kids will experience his same warm beige green, pink purple weird and abstract structures and tech like then…. I wish i could move to a town that’s still stuck in the 90s, the buildings, tech, clothes etc. would be a comfortable place. I dream about it everyday. To find that liminal town. Home…. The final frontier… the place I can feel comfortable and safe again. I’ll fill my house will old goods and live the simple life. With the benefits of todays tech. And the looks of the 90s early 2000s. If you know of such a place. Leave comment… 😢 I want to get out of Houston find a Liminal town and relax….. for just one more time.
Houston is a dump and the rest of Texas isn’t much better. Try looking for a comfy place to live. No there’s no “liminal” towns. I moved to Omaha, Nebraska and it’s nice here compared to TX
You have one of the most imaginative and creative mind when it comes to mixes like this. All your songs perfectly match the theme of your choice, which almost always comes out of left field (and I mean that in the best possible way). Including "Helvetica" and "The Search for Ecco" by the Midnight and "Pinot Noir" by Eyeliner and truly inspired choices, I never would have thought to feature these together but they work so well. Your mixes especially hold significance for me-I have just made a huge move and my life has become very stressful as I search for a full time job, I've becomes especially sentimental about the early days of the internet and my childhood, before Smartphones and screens took over our lives. Immediately I am transported to an imaginary world of turquoise hues, dolpins, palm trees and midi files late into the night. You rock, man. Keep doing what you are doing.
@SoulSearchAndDestroy thanks a ton man! This comment means a ton. I've been a fan of your channel for a very long time! I'm glad my mixes have helped you reminisce. It's absolutely what I'm going for - remembering times before smart phones, social media, streaming, polarized politics and covid. I love to think back to those same things of turquoise hues, tiled pools, malls, and playing outside. Thanks again for checking out the mix - your work is an inspiration!
Our next generation will act like us indeed going back to their childhood for nostalgia just like we do and eventually this generation will be dying off as well and the next generation will be making its way in we need to archive as much as possible to let the future know what our lives were like back then and let them decide if they want to bring it back or not what ever can't happen now can happen in the future history can repeat its self.
@@RetroPlayerOne Bioshock is strange, because it's an underwater sci-fi horror game, but at the same time it's incredible beautiful and adicctive, so player can feel he/she wants to run away from there but, in other hand, need to stay forever there. Now, if we talk about other games, like Mario or Zelda, aquatic levels are pure nightmare xD
well the videogames these levels are from do have chill levels. jolly roger bay in particular is very peaceful. zora's domain is always beautiful and peaceful in zelda games. mario odyssey had a couple of very chill water levels too. i'd say videogames having non-chill water levels (especially the music) is less common.
When I decompress I lay down with the shower on, play this with a mood light and a blunt and just remember when we could smoke in malls like the rats we are at heart. It helps me realize it’s okay to just be who you are. It helps me just be. Thank you for that.
Even as a kid, when I first heard Dire Dire Docks back in 1997, I instantly felt something I never did. Same feeling I got when I first heard Cerulean City in Pokemon Yellow and Aquatic Ambience in DK Country.
This reminds me of when I'd play the Ape Escape demo on my Playstation Pizza Hut disc at my grandparents and spend forever just exploring the underwater parts of the 2nd level. Would loooooove to see a video made with that game, especially that part!
I could lie and think about the first section for hours and hours, it's so trippy to be in a box shaped room with windows on all sides that show your high above the clouds all while the room is filled with water and coins, it's trippy yet relaxing that the coins give you air as you swim to find the right ones.
A lot of people have memories of a place they used to explore with siblings or friends when they were little kids. There is a feeling of enchantment that is absolutely ineffable and unique. My strongest such memories involve exploring the world of Super Mario 64 with my older brother, and I'd have to say the strongest such aural memory is of the song from Jolly Roger Bay. It's impossible to describe how it makes me feel. It sounds so ethereal and otherworldly, yet it sounds like ... home. It sounds as if someone is telling me that there are vast worlds full of wonder beyond my horizon, full of mystery, wonder, awe, ... maybe danger, but that no matter how far I go or how lost I get, I will always be loved.
So glad this came out! I'm working as a customer agent all day today (Thanksgiving) and it's the perfect thing to keep me some company. Thanks for uploading!
I'm glad this was able to help you get through the day. Way to hustle! It's a bummer to have to work on Thanksgiving for sure but these mixes are here for you 👊
Im tearing up and having such bad Goosebumps over Zoras Domain. My God the Nostalgia it makes my chest swirl and my head go into straight depression mode, but yet somehow I find myself backing it up
I'm glad you were able to feel some nostalgia while listening to this mix! It's good to remember older times like this every once in a while. Thanks for listening!
his give me so nostalgia vibes when i listen this music now i,m back at the 19,s i remember i played with my brothers snes or played outside on the garden that was the best ore watching movies and series like dragonball z or kickers chillhood ❤
This mix is seriously the best man such nostalgic sounding vibes its got me through some times when im down and the day sucks this is straight up like one of my all time fav mixes
I never had an N 64. My mom wouldn't let me have game consoles for some reason. But I'd always go over to my friend's houses and play what they had which was fun.
This channel and the comments here are what make RU-vid worth watching. If more channels had the same type of nice comments that you find here? Then folks would be better people, but the majority of videos out there are garbage and the content creators are cringe with their hyped up attitude and lame jokes and it annoys me, then you’ve got friggin multiple ads that play like wtf? Ugh, these types of channels should be ad free so folks can access them as easy as they can. I suffer from mental health issues and it affects my mood, a lot of things annoy me and irritate me, but this one of those channels which help make me feel better
"S O A R E R - 永恆的地平線" evokes this incredibly strong image in my head. I see myself sitting on a rock on an ocean covering a flooded earth. the sky is filled with the brilliance of cosmos and stars as the sun sets. time and history are over. all conflict has ended. im just peacefully waiting to be taken up into the indescribable afterwards that awaits me beyond existence, knowing it will be bliss that there is no words for.
For everyone saying life was better back then .... it's called the *Nostalgia Effect* .... as we get older, we appreciate the carefree youth & sans responsibility that we ever so took for granted... Also life 'back in those days' was saturated with the chaotic bombardment of noise, social media, influencers and socio economic doom & gloom... we just got on with our simple lives and held our communities tight, before the savage advent of social media, flex culture, fomo, narcissistic influencers etc etc
Sometimes the potency of nostalgia can be so intense that it's like medication on an empty stomach, you almost feel nauseated by the sudden awareness of the time that has passed, the older faces on everyone you love and call friends and family, the wrinkles and the aging of your reflection in the mirror. Can't help but to feel a detached sadness mixed with an inner warmer happiness. It's confusing what to even call it, so we'll just use nostalgic, but the word doesn't do the depth of the emotion its justice.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Op isn't doing anything but uploading hq soundtrack quality rips of game music. It's not vaporwave, there is nothing unique about the tracks except being high quality. It's just a playlist of game music.
Thank you for reminding me how good Helvetica is. I have all of The Midnight’s albums, and overall, Monster’s is my least favorite. After hearing it in this mix 3 months ago, I don’t think I’ve gone a day without listening to Helvetica. Your mixes are so good, only mix channel that I am subscribed to. I’m much more likely to find a new band here than I am from Spotify’s recommend playlists.
When it first came out I also felt the way that you do but some of the songs from that album have grown on me so much I would even consider them among my favourites from them; like for example night skies
@@RetroPlayerOne yeah bro this is it ive been jammin this at least 4 times a day throughout work and chillin lmaoo i like the instrumental vaporwave actually my first time in this genre
@@BlackkDiiamonds Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Country? And did you know that Stickerbrush Symphony was originally meant to be for a water level? Any excuse to add that masterpiece of a track in to any mix 🎧⛵
Love this mix, got it replaying for a week now. I'm new to the channel, and that comment below from SoulSearchAndDestroy confirms I've arrived to a shore I'll definitely enjoy. thanks for your work, subscribed 🐬
Not gonna lie, there's not a single bad track on here. ♥ That's the second time I've said that on a playlist this past week and that's not something that happens often with me. Thank you for keeping me entertained while I create :3
Thank you! This 90´s relaxing vapowave mix is exactly what I have been looking for for years. Chill vaporwave mixes are kind of energetic and doesn´t really help me to relax and focus on what I ám doing (I´m specially in love with 11:05). And of course, it takes me back to my childhood.
NOOOO WAYY. I grew up playing this when i was 5 or 6. I hadnt payed attention to the thumbnail, just the title, passed by it for a few days now. But every time i looked at the title, i thought of this first song. NO WAY i couldve predicted thats exactly what it was till i recognized the thumbnail room, and clicked
