I used to be a Doomer in late 2019. No matter how good the music is, I must never let myself get to that point ever again. The good old days are gone…sadly. But there are the new days ahead which we can turn into „the good old days“ of the future.

It is often that we plan and feel forsaken when, from our view, the world conspires against our plans. I tell you now, this is our own arrogance. Overcome this within yourself and the pain shall have no way to dig its claws into you. We think we know best, that our plans are best, but this is madness. The world is vast and unknowable, so do not let it get to you that you overlooked something. Understand it, learn from it, and then move on with a course adjustment. You will find things go wrong in life, invariably. You may look to someone else and wonder "why does everything go right for them?" but I assure you it is not so. You are not a terrible person, but you are also not a perfect one. Refine yourself, not with insane fervor, but with reasoned effort and will. Withstand life's trials and be better for them, no matter how much they take from you. Do not turn harmful inwardly or outwardly, for both make the world worse. The latter makes the world worse by harming it directly while the prior makes it worse by depriving it of the good you can provide. Do not give up. Simply learn where to best put your efforts. Maybe she wasn't the one, but do not let that ruin you. If she is not the one, do not pursue her as such. Simple as that, as difficult as it is.
@Gentle Bull , forgive my poor phrasing. By "do not turn," I meant "do not become." However, let's say that you already are harmful (I do not accept the idea that one can't keep from becoming so, but I know from much experience how difficult it can be). If you are currently harming the outside through anger, rudnes, vitriol, and spite, then you must check your actions. When you feel your blood begin to boil or your words grow icy and cruel, hold you tongue and stay your hand. I know it will not work every time, especially starting out, but it will get easier as it becomes habit. It will only become habit if you keep trying. If you are harmful inwardly, then you must do something all the more difficult: check your thoughts. That said, the purpose of the checks on outward actions is to affect inward thoughts, but with issues that are wholy inward, we have something less physical and more abstract that we must handle, making it easier to fail to notice. The same priniciple applies though. When you think cruel thoughts to yourself ("I am worthless, I am born to die alone, I am a blight, I bring ruin to those I meet, I need to understand that it is time to give up" are some examples of things I've hammered into my head) you must nip them in the butt. Stop, think, analyze, and refute these notions. Others can also help. Sometimes, people who know you can counter these ideas on a specific level by telling you about good aspects of yourself specifically. However, I have had to go to more general sources, as I find that the more I think someone cares about me, the less I trust their complements (this issue is something I'm trying to fix in myself). I look at myself, not through the lens of "who am I?" but of "what is a man?" The way I see it, the perspective I've forged through my own cogitating about myself, through research into philosophy, and my observations on other people is thus: 1. We all have the potential to be good. The defining mark is our choices, never our circumstances. Until we are dead, we may yet choose to be better. 2. Failure does not equate to being bad; it means a mistake or a wrong choice. You can recover. 3. As my dad said: never judge your insides by other people's outsides. You don't know everything about other people, certainly don't think terrible things of yourself because of that poor information. Even if I do not know your name, your face, your struggles, or your hopes, I know this: you are a human being, you can be a great human being, and I'll love you for the mere fact that you are human. Being a great person means being able and being willing to help others become better people. The difficulties can be overcome with work and resources, but it is the temptations that prevent most people from being great. Temptations distract from our willingness to be better. But temptations are a choice away from being overcome.

@Gentle Bull , it means a lot to me to hear this. I tentatively take it as a sign that I am getting better, at least at recognizing how to get better and conveying that. The bad moments never go away, every generation before us and after us has had them, but we as individuals may prevent the bad moments from ruling us. Edit: spelling
its 2am, you're driving down the road in your car in the 2000's. the rain becomes more violent, you start to drink your water, on your way back from a nightshift at work. you lean back, relaxing, this starts playing over the radio. you watch the wiper blades go back and forth, slowly becoming entranced. as the traffic is becoming more apparent, you begin to feel rage. you remember everything they did, and how much they hurt you, as you weave traffic, your grip on the wheel tightening and your foot and pinning the accelerator to the floor, you slowly lose control, as you see the edge of the bridge coming, you breathe in and out, accepting fate and realising they deserved better, your tenuous grasp on reality fades as water fills your lungs, nature takes its course and life will continue, your eyes flutter shut as you sink to the bottom of the river in your car.

POV: you're a guy who makes sure everyone around you is happy when you are with your friends, your loved ones etc. Meanwhile you are alone in your room and just willing to kill yourself because you are seeing yourself as worthless person. This is in my case, but I clearly think someone has worse case. Brothers and sisters who are alone, hopeless, sad, numb keep going strong and start doing for your own. You'll be happier when you make a better version of yourself, and when you make your loved ones happy (family, friends, your partner, dog, cat or whoever/whatever you love) Keep going king/queen who is reading this!
