@MelloYellow308 I've got some fun news for you, buddy. Yeah, most of the time it is largely an act, but sometimes it's not all an act, and very occasionally, it's mostly not an act. Gura falls into that last category. Yeah, she's playing it up to entertain and appeal to an audience, and get a paycheck. But it turns out there is a way bigger core of honesty about her personality and sweetness that she draws from, than the average in this line of work. Am I talking some "oh I can just tell" bullshit? No. I've seen the real side of her, going back to when she was just a goofy kid trying to share her hobbies online and bring some smiles. She was always a sweetheart who just wanted to have fun and share that fun with others. I know this because haters and doxers tried everything they could to dig around and find some weakness in her character to justify their hate, and they came up with nothing. She really is a decent and almost entirely genuine person, with no serious drama at all during her many years online, both public and more private. This is it. She's pretty much just as you see. A simple girl with a big heart, and a little bit of talent for entertaining and singing.

Yeah, that basically sums me up. Mostly because I'm working when she streams, but also because I can't exactly afford subs or SCs. It's definitely nice to know for sure that she and the others are thankful for us being there, even if we're not in a position to show our gratitude - it definitely takes a mature mind to understand this and be supportive of it.

Been a near-silent observer of Hololive for around two years now, nearly since the beginning of HoloEN. As others have said, I can't really afford memberships or superchats, and also my schedule often doesn't line up for streams (so thanks clippers for keeping me in the loop!), but I still very much enjoy all their content. I'm sure I speak for all the silent watchers that we'll continue to enjoy and support from the sidelines for the foreseeable future

I was a bit pissed at myself for being late to membershrimp so I got the Sharkside. I feel like supas are still a little unfair so I usually do idiot supas that aren't intended to be read aloud. I wish we could choose who gets gift membershrimps, but since we can't I'll sometimes pick someone's message for her to send as a supa. I think the last time, was someone said they'd gladly lose their legs if they could sing as well as her. They just wanted to tell her to be more confident in herself, even if she keeps saying music is only a hobby. In the end there are many ways to support the people that you like. Just being another viewer counts, like she said. Introducing others to her clips or to clippings from her karaokes, that's good too. And for anyone who's got stuff going on in their life, come to prechat sometime and soak in some of the positivity.

I honestly smiled at this part, not everyone likes to chat all the time in the streams, especially when it gets too overwhelming. Sometimes I do, most times I don't, and I as a fan am really happy that Gooba acknowledges all the silent enjoyers out there watching her streams. Best shork indeed. So this is his name just translated literally into Russian as someone who blows the horn. It sounds funny (not in the lewd way or anything just silly). And I think I never ever meet anyone in Russia named Horatio.

Well, when chat is moving at relativistic speed, who can be bothered to type a meaningful comment if it's not going to be followed with a little coin to get it highlighted and read? How the mods keep up with it, I don't know. They deserve a big thank you for their effort and hardwork. Plus not everyone needs a parasocial relationship with streamers. Some of us are just here for a laugh and it's good that Gura is aware of us and leaves us to it most of the time. Also, if it were not for Fubuki, Matsuri, and Gura, I'd not be down this VTuber rabbit hole right now.

I'm one of those pps who can rarely ever watch live streams due to being EU-situated, but I still watch VODs pretty regularly and try to support that way. One of the reasons why I love collabs, since theyre usually at a time somewhere between US and ID/JP which is more approachable for EU viewers.

Not really, this isn’t the kind of job one can hold forever, I would not imagine anyone doing this kind of thing for more than 10 years or so. The vods will always be around but new content will stop eventually, that’s kind of what I imagine is the general takeaway from that part.

Of course they probably won't do this forever, but we don't know that or what her plans are, Vtubers haven't been around long enough to make that kind of determination. She may not have being referring to that at all. This may be in relation to that one stream, she may have meant she will only be in your head for a little while cleaning cob webs. The pains of the Sana graduation still sting for some of us so when someone says they may be around only for a little while it touches on these pains thst have not yet faded.

i always have this dreadful feeling of some of the people do it just to feel like they're building favors with the tuber to become closer or at least recognized. it's such a slippery slope. but as long as they donate responsibly (same as gambling) there's no real harm either way. im glad pointed out it doesn't matter what you do or dont do while we are here, the point is youre here! showing support :)

For a while she was trying to not read ANY supas early on. And it took a year and half for her to mostly stop scolding people for sending large ones. For all the people out there complaining about top streamers getting "free money", here was the one consistently acting like she didn't need it and didn't care about it. Now, she'll take the akasupas when they are given and only speaks up if a lot come all at once. She's still as likely to read a plain text comment as a superchat. She hasn't been doing a lot of Zatsudans after games recently and she does not do special supa-reading streams. The "chaotic blue dummy" is still out there, and we are still watching her develop.
