He knows how to do it with a precise speed and tone of voice, he understood the assignment, and his energy mesh with the energy of the show, he didn't steal the attention away from the models.
Kendrick killed this performance at the Louis Vuitton fashion show all while sitting down next to Naomi Campbell the whole time, not taking the attention off of the models. He really meant it when he said, “Be Humble, Sit Down”.
Kendrick rapped every word without his lyrics even being played in the background! You can tell her wrote these songs from his heart and mind! Some rappers cannot even do this! Kendrick is the GREATEST!
I wouldn't be surprised if any of the attendees didn't even know he was there rappin... this shit is so clean..powerful 🔥 Put me to tears man. RIP Virgil
hes so humble just sitting in the crowd performing and keeping the attention still on the models (not sure if any other performers do this as ive never seen a fashion show before)
Humble? Those sitting beside him are also famous guys and billionaires. That’s supermodel, Naomi Campbell. Founder of twitter is just two seats away from him
The level of skills this right here takes to perform in the midst of a blazing sun, in front of a powerful crowd while clustered-mostly uncomfortably-in between sits, but remaining serene enough to not miss a single word of such technically charged songs: this can only be attributed to a God-given talent. Long Live Virgil & God watch over King K 🧡
Lol who said this though? Had to be a casual listener because K Dot has been consistently creating masterful works of art since the Section 80 days. O.D. is still my favorite project
I feel like people say that bc in this generation, an artist is someone who pops out with the looks, the vibes, the biggest performance, the most lights and the shiniest persona. But true artistry makes you feel something and inspires an impact far greater than just “doing it for the curlture” and that’s no disrespect to Drake or any other artist similar to him, but Kendrick’s artistry is deeper than the mainstream or a movement relevant to current time. That is why Kendrick is in a class all his own, in reference to any other “artist” out there now a days
The fact that he played a song where he said “Take off the Chanel, take off the Dolce, take off the birkin bag.. take all that designer bullshit” and still invited to designer shows 😎
It is funny but the meaning behind it isn’t dissing the designer companies per say. It’s more of a statement of “regardless of what you wear you’re still ugly ass Fuck.” Clothing doesn’t change personality.
@@AIGeneratedThings So true. Plus he didn't say Louis Vuitton out of respect for Virgil. Perfect song to play if they only want people buying Louie. True story.
Nope he making fun off us all the people that can’t afford the shit but still buy it for views and brand deals or to look valuable, it ain’t shit we will never be at his or their level ( we still ugly)
@@wearesuarez The whole point of those lyrics are for people to take a deeper look at themselves and ask what are they actually doing with their time on this earth outside of something I like to call "Ego Maintenance" and dodging shame. It's not meant to be taken literally. Kendrick is saying all the designer clothes and jewelry you have is fine and dandy sure, but at the end of the day when you're not worrying about how you look and how others perceive you and such, who are you and what do want out of life ? Do you have character ? Integrity ? Or are you spending every day of your life, giving energy to looking like you're above everyone else in this made up system with no regard for anything else in your life ? That's the point.
@@wearesuarez I'm from LA i know what he does for the city you probably just some weirdo spamming just by your youtube name you seem like a Mark . if he such a sellout get off his videos
@@t-san4195 he is clearly talking about designer clothes as well it's just there is deeper meaning as well. He raps in such a passive aggressive manner. He also says "take off the runway" how much more clear can you get
It was as if he made this album for the event. Really synced with the creativity. I bet this was an experience to be there live. He was never the main focus of the event but his music supports everything here. Kendrick has shown selflessness as on the album theme.
I'm pretty sure when he made this album he wasn't thinking about some fashion show where people model clothes that no one will even really wear. But hey whatever fits
Really? His music speaks out against the obsurdity of events like this. But hey, if they want to pay a lot of money to hear music that insults them then...🤔🤑 🤔
The rich spirit instrumental is just such a vybe my favorite on the album Also I’ve never ever watched a fashion show I just don’t understand the style I just love Kendrick
5:04 my favorite part. He’s so talented and his breath control and pacing is impeccable, but in this particular instance, the way he’s able to replace the word “silence” with “Virgil” and have it sound like it was edited in, like a recording cut him off.
Me as an underground artist with a small audience, Kendrick is the type of success story that inspires me. It's been inspiring to see how he's grown in his abilities and steadily exploded after embracing every chance he's been given! With good reason, Mans has swiftly become a hallmark in the music business. I know that if I work hard enough, I can eventually reach a wider audience, but for now, I'm satisfied as a supporter. It'll be my time next. Much respect Kendrick🔥
Kendrick is a GOAT 🐐‼️‼️‼️ I’m so glad he took the 5 years off even though I missed his work. But this album was definitely one to wait for 💯💯. These lyrics weren’t meant when he created them and to still be at this event and not take the attention away is another Level of GOAT STATUS
Voice and Breath Control on 1000000!!! The level of focus and discipline this man put into his craft!! We're looking at the Kobe, Denzel, MJ, Bolt, Tiger of Hip Hop!
I would love it if he did a concert like this. Just chillin, we all vibin in the audience really getting the chance to hear and feel the lyrics with the drums missing. And the entire Mr. Morale album, from start to finish. That would be dope.
Love K dot and this performance was incredible. Can’t help but notice the irony in N95 lyrics “take all that designer bullshit off and what do you have?” At a LV fashion show. 😂
From making a soundtrack for movies to performing back to back songs at a worldwide fashion show !!!!! WOOOW !!!!! WHAT A TIME IN LIFE TO LIVE !!!!! BIG UP KDOT AND REST HEAVENLY VIGIL 🙏🏾
If you were there, you might didn't realized that Kendrick rap it live cuz he's being lowkey, sit down and crossing his legs, put his eyes on the models just like the others. He knows the proportion of this event. Such a legend.
@@dennischritskou3631 yeah which kinda makes it slept on. I knew from listening to it this will be a slow burner on people and then they'll appreciate the music more over time
@@francissmalls3882 if you put it that way yes. But it's probably the most popular release this year and has millions of streams already, that's why I said it's not slept on.
@@deshundillard1337 do you even know what a prophet is ?? A prophet is someone that teaches other about the word of God , that chooses to lead their path about spreading the word of God , so the question I ask you is how is he not a prophet.
You know I’m not super religious, but this brought me to tears. With all the dark symbolism with satanism and such. He really brought some light into the world. Is was so beautiful.
I can listen to his album the whole day the songs in that album were a connection of spirit and body he can even sing while doing other things more energy brotherman
Dog its sad we live in a time where this album won't be fully appreciated until years later. To me this was a call for the black community to seek therapy and heal but everybody worried about hits.
@@cousinblvck well said brotherman people don't have love for good things, they like oppression but Kendrick stands against that through his rap but people don't realize that
That’s a god at work…. Spittin bars n just flowing All you gotta do is nod and enjoy art This is a very GREAT show Remain in the books of fashion Remain in the books of Rap music This is history.💯🎯🔥
I feel like I've just watched a fashion show in heaven... 😇 This is beautiful, I almost dropped my phone when the camera panned to Oklama 🤯 I thought they were playing the tape 😳 But then again in all honesty I shouldn't be surprised at this point... Kendrick live performances are second to none... Even the models are like wtf 🤯😂 This is the kind of stuff that makes me wanna get into studio and make some more music... matter of fact that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Thanks for the upload! 🙌🏾👏🏽👌🏾🙏🏾
No name comes to beating Kendrick at show performances this days, the way he always deliver his performance, and damn, his song oratory is unmatched, songs are deep from his heart.
This is ICONIC man. Virgil, U a legend big bro and u made so many of us proud. We love u and miss u always. Rest In Paradise and lace everyone up there in LV🙏🏽✌🏽💯☝🏽
This is a stretch but I honestly believe Kendrick is a living legend. The music along with the runway models has me thinking of the simplicity of just being open and aware of your strengths and weaknesses like I could just imagine the energy the models felt as kdot spoke and just the insight it takes to be able to have your lyrics so versatile like it every thing music. I listen to mr. Morale & the big steppers as I go to sleep, at the gym, in class at work. It speaks on levels, Kendrick makes music that penetrates societal barriers and norms you’d typically use in everyday situations and someone else will probably say they’ve seen it done better but imo this is the first time I feel like yo I yeah you fxck with whoever but no cap it’s kdot over here 💯
NBS, I think this Album has Classic Potential, I think people were lukewarm to it at first because they wanted a bunch of hype songs, but This album has very few skips and has some of the songwriting of kdots career.
This is one of the most beautiful displays of art and life I've ever seen. The music, venue, runway and clothes, everything, it felt like an embodiment of Virgil and his work coming alive.
Every single detail is IMPECCABLE- Kendrick SMOOTH as BUTTA! One of my Favorite artists - of all my friends I’m the only Kendrick Fan! Cause he’s that dope!!!
I would honestly just be in tears knowing I could never fully appreciate the moment if I was the one sitting next to Kenny during this. I would absolutely NOT be on my phone taking pics and vids right in his face lol
