This can't be... I hadn't heard and I hoped this post was a troll. Its so bizarre, to listen to the music of someone who was so recently a part of this world with us, who so recently breathed air and had blood pumping in his veins, who had ideas, thoughts, hopes, fears, plans and regrets. Who had lived so long, been around for so many years, who had touched so many souls, seen so many things, created so many things, all of these things much more than I have and maybe ever will. I person I have never met, who had no knowledge of my existence, and yet I knew this person and this person had in some way reached out and had a non quantifiable impact on my own life and the lives of so many more. And then to see that less than a month ago, this man who had lived so much, lived no longer. Its strange. An unusual feeling despite death being equally as common in this world as death. Its just a weird sensation. Rest in Peace Ryuichi Sakamoto, I will listen to your music for as long as I live. Funny, how we feel compelled to write messages out to dead men...

By watching the comments on most of the Ryuichi Sakamoto's videos I can tell that he made such a positive impact on our lives. We are living crazy times, but this music feels like a relief in our souls, telling us that there's still beauty in this world and yet we can move forward to a better future. Your legacy will be always remembered, thank you.
It's a heartbreak that grew up with his music... Delicacy is so lacking in this world, I hope his music will still inspire many souls to infinity. Aligato Sensei 🙏🌸 Rest in Sky ⭐
Beautiful words, true. The soul resides in the heart, everything beautiful comes from the soul. So few people love their Soul during their lifetime, yet it still waits for us… Warm greetings from Poland. 💖
Unfortunately Ryuichi passed away on 03/28. It hurts very much, I was a big fan of his many arts since my childhood. He is now going the new and quiet way of his great friend David Bowie. I am very sad and yet full of joy, his music lives on. Thank you very much dear Ryuichi.

I’ve been going through a really intense depression. I finally decided today to start therapy, I re-arranged my entire room and cleaned up, now I’m in bed I’m reading this self help book while listening to this. I know things will get better *1 month later: It’s only been a month but it feels like forever ago. I was in such a bad place and I am still working on it but I feel so much more content. Thank you for the kind messages
May your music play in Heaven too, Mr. Sakamoto. It makes me so sad that you're no longer here. It sounds crazy I know but it's like a part of me is gone too. I love Japan despite being italian and to me japanese culture is something else, I feel I was japanese in another life. Thank you for your music, Rest In Peace.
i come back every night for this, just to hear mr sakamoto talks while his music is playing in the background, may his soul rest in peace it was really tragic to hear about him passing away..
My favourite thing about bgm videos is the amount of kind people in the comments. Everyone wishes good sleep and effective studying and says that they're proud of us and.... it's just cute. It's my favourite environment to be in. Thank you all for helping to cultivate that.
True, there is a beautiful community around this music. It seems that these songs brings out the best of us. The best legacy that an artist can ever have. RIP Ryuchi Sakamoto.
@@estebana7736 it kinda feels a safe space for all of us whose souls resonates at the same wavelenghts of these beautiful compositions. I am glad I am not alone sharing my feelings with total strangers, maybe not so much. I bet we could be really gpod friends in real life, for that I am sure. Have a nice life out there in the world, even though the news of Sakamoto' s passing is so sad...Ciao dall' Italia alike people 👋
For the first weeks I was not able to listen to his music again. I grew up, in my most delicate adolescents years with his music. He is, what me concerns, an absolute genius and pioneer. The delicacy of his compositions, his acting, his playing the piano...it makes me feel grateful again of my youth, although very complicated, his music made some moments incredible meaningful and special. My friends used to come to our house and we would listen to his music. Rest in peace, beautiful composer, piano player and most of all human being. All my love.
So sad… Rest in peace Professor Sakamoto. Sometimes we only discover greatness after it has gone. This was the case for me today after reading of Mr Sakamoto’s passing in the Guardian. I have been listening to his music all this afternoon; so beautiful, calming and blessed I have found it. You are gone, but you live through your music…
I really like your words, I’m glad that you think so wisely. Good luck in your development, remember that imagination is the most important thing - and the impossible does not exist. Warm greetings from Poland.💖

I`m heartbroken that Mr. Sakamoto has passed away, his music was a dear gift that gave me a sense of serenity and closeness to nature 🌸 May you rest in peace sensei.
“Life is like music for its own sake. We are living in an eternal now, and when we listen to music we are not listening to the past, we are not listening to the future, we are listening to an expanded present.” ― Alan Watts 🙌
I'm heartbroken, devastated. No words could precisely describe how painful it is to know that he's gone and have left us. Ryuichi Sakamoto-san, your extraordinary legacy will always be preserved. I'm too upset hearing this news and at the same time I hate why I receive it so late. I'm shocked. I just... I wanna remember you, I wanna remember you tonight while listening to your many (magnificent, whimsical) songs which you've composed with all of your heart. One last thing that I only can say now, may you rest in the most peaceful sleep you've ever had, Sakamoto-san. You're forever in our hearts. ❤️
Why has 2024 been me finding a lot of Japanese artists so far. First it was Masayoshi Takanaka, then L'Arc-en-Ciel , and now it's Ryuichi Sakamoto? What other gemmed Japanese artists am I missing out on?
