@@smigoltime I was thinking this too, got 2 kills in 4 games, mostly by hitting engines. The lack of HE is really obnoxious. Glad I can confirm I wasn't just having a skill issue when the shell went through from the back all the way out the front of a P-47 with no damage and I see you nail a B-25 from 1km in a video.
@@Tr4wnet I know man, but its not only that I'm still able to download it. Its the nostalgia for the gone days and the memories with people that are no longer in my life.
well irl simply destroying the engine / setting a tank on fire / detracking one was considered as tank destroyed. You don't repair a broken engine in 40 seconds irl ;--D
You make this thing look lighter than a feather when it actually feels trying to fly a garbage truck with an anti tank cannon strapped to it (Also please do a video on the yak-9k, i'd love to see what youre able to do with the 45mn on this thing against enemy planes)
I genuinely don't understand how your aim is so good, I can't hit shit with this plane. I understand even less how you're outmanouvering fighters. Hats off, I'm in awe.
The new ammo detonation animations are low-key one of the best new things they've added to the game in a long time. With the exception of the iffy orange disk of light on the ground at the start of the explosion, the ammo-rack at 2:22 just looks soooo good.
that P-47 probably got the shame of a life time having his ass handed to him by a Duck, to be fair tho its smigol flying, the guy who could probably pull of any wacky shit you could imagine
Smigol when you're going to play the meteor NF13 which for me is a suffer experience let's see if you could prove me wrong. Last but not least great video.
It's as if the ineffectiveness of these guns in ideal conditions in a game that provides you all the needed breaks from reality like absolute reliability, consistent ammo or perfect third person view and minimap is _a hint how inflated for propaganda were actual Rudel's results..._
100% BUT there’s also the factor that APCR, even if it was just as bad at destroying tanks IRL as it is in-game, could still cause mobility kills, take out barrels, or cause crew to bail out from a penetration into the crew compartment that otherwise didn’t cause damage. Rudel’s still almost definitely full of it, though.
@@pandovian_ first of all, yes, the game doesn't count mobility kills, mission kills or crew panicking. Secondly... let's just say that there is an interesting version floating around in russian parts of internet. There are claims that the reason for such effectiveness was the external fuel tanks soviets used on marches and dropped before battle. The reason behind the claim? There are several reports where Ju-87 was credited with a kill with autocannons, BUT the only operating Ju-87 at that place and time were D models that had MG-151/20 gunpods, that can't hope to pierce tank armor. However they had a lot of incendiary and explosive ammo and extreme rate of fire, which combined were enough to ignite even bloody diesel. Btw the game doesn't count those external tanks on soviet tanks as existing even though it models them. Not sure how true it is, but it adds one more nail into legendary reputation of G model.
Rudel flew in a group with other experienced "tank hunters" and attacked in repeated approaches behind friendly lines where flak was no a huge issue. His claims are no doubt inflated but then again you didn't need to eliminate all crew members of a T-34 for it to be a 'real' kill in real life. 1 effective hit to the engine or one that causes a fire would be likely and rightly considered a kill.
@@TheArklyte Could not the engine deck or necessary components for the engine to function be damaged by 20mm fire though? I'm not sure but it could be another explanation. In any case I thought the same thing as you when I read his book, external fires seem the most likely.
Lower-velocity gun and way slower reload. I've never been able to even reliably kill things with it in the test drive, but I've definitely run into players who learned it and love it. Good XA-38 pilots are terrifying.
Aaaaaaaaaa the duck absolute beast i still love that plane as its a mission to keep it in the air let alone killing tanks with it. I have killed some planes with it but my 40mm hurricane is a plane destroyer the duck is just funni boi
410s have better speed and maneuverability than the duck. Also the dual 13mm turrets and 20mm cannons have gotten me many air kills which would otherwise be impossible with the duck. Hs 129 is pretty much only usable with no air contesting and very little anti air, Me 410 is more flexible.
@@jojomaster7675 Personally, I think it's good. You can penetrate almost anything you see bar heavy tanks from bad angles or ricochets. It's fun to use and I have it almost always in my line up. The main benefit over the Ju-87 cannons or duck is, once again, the better flexibility overall.
