i remember the first time i watched howl's moving castle, i think i was around the age of 12. i remember being so entranced by the beauty of the little details in the background and the well written characters. little did i know that this movie would become my favorite movie ever and no matter how many times i watched it i would never get tired of it; howl's deep voice and his charming characteristics, sophie's timid yet elegant and confident words and actions, calcifer's sarcastic attitude, markl's adorable face, turnip head's comic relief, the witch of the waste teaching us what love really is. and then i discovered the book, and even though there were major differences in the characters (especially howl) it only made me love it even more. howl has of course raised my standards in men and relationships which has definitley made me a helpless romantic(ahhh). how i wish i could read/watch howl's moving castle for the first time again, and how i wished that i would be able to visit this majestic world one day, but here i am 16 years old and listening to a playlist to feel closer to something i will never have, but at least i have wattpad, music, and an imagination.

Your eyes couldn't help but stare at their lovely figure, the silky smooth hair, their eyelashes made their eyes more beautiful then any you have seen before. The beautiful sunset's light reflected off of their clear smooth skin. They look as if they had just come out of a movie, they were unlike anyone you've ever seen before. Even pictures would never be able to capture their beauty. You were afraid to approach them at first, there's was no chance someone that great would talk to someone like you. You wore a long flowy light brown waisted skirt with a white long sleeve top. Unlike Nimbus you didn't have a stunning face like hers, you had to make up your looks with clothing and style. You knew that no matter what Nimbus wore they would look beautiful, if only it was the same for you. Maybe then you could have a chance of being with her. In that moment as you see her starting to walk away you remember your grandma's advice, her telling you to live your life without regrets. You knew that even if you didn't have a very good chance with her you would regret it if you didn't at least try. "Thank you grandma Furry." You whispered to yourself as you quickly stood up from the outside table you were seated at and ran over to Nimbus right before she started crossing the street. You kiss her hand and say goodbye then leave with both yourself and Nimbus smiling. You were grateful to meet each other and wish to see her again soon.

Ranting story: When I saw the movie for the first time I didn't really know what an anime crush was and I didn't watch a lot since my library had a few anime movies and mostly books and cartoon movies or dvd series in them but when I watched the movies I loved his character and Calcifer as well but I mostly stared at Howl all the time and I always wanted to feel like I was in the movie like a kid would dream of. And mostly I didn't remember the name of the movie but I always loved his character and before I loved Japanese voice over, I always loved the English since it suited him so well and then I didn't remember the name of the movie all too well since I haven't been to my library in so long till I remember someone posting a tiktok with his voice and his name then I started to re watch it over and over again and forgot I'm an artist but I always took some time to re watch certain scenes and look at art of him or get lost at other art that themes around it. To the point I drew flowers, mushrooms, and I didn't realise that I was into cottagecore, creepy yet romantic art and watercolor painting of old castles and courtyards and Greek mythology also came into my art and stories I write. Honestly he was actually the first anime dude I liked then Sailor Pluto was my gay awakening before I watched anime on my phone. I want to thank him but I feel as if that wouldn't be enough since he isn't real but that music also made my art more than my childhood self thought it never become. I'm greatful for it and I hope that someday that my art will be like my stories when I finally feel proud to draw them and maybe I'll tell a story to my lover of how we can dance in the clouds and talk about the stars.. Tell them how I became this way and how my art will become more with them.. I don't want to say much more but my ex and I are artist and I see she's been doing amazing and if she ever asks me for some way to get inspired I'll show her the movies I watched and hope she sees what made me happy and tell her that I still deeply care for her even if she hates me. A way to tell Howl thank you, and to pass on his way of making me myself to someone who might need it more.
