Thankyou Julie. I'd love to see all the items concerning how people lived and worked in the west highlands. There are many items which I myself used daily, at the end of the wee crofts in the 1950's. You always bring back these memories to my old brain! I used a three legged milking stool, and often took the cream off the milk, making butter and crowdie ( a cheese). When our cow had calved, she had plenty milk, which we used to make dairy products from, and I also remember my Uncle making carrageen, which was boiled seaweed, made into a lovely pudding! We collected seaweed from Ardentallen, at the foot of Lerags, and we spread it on the neeps and tatties crowing in very fertile beds. At that time the wee crofts in Lerags all had rights to harvest the seaweed from the stone beach. I also remember walking a bicycle up the hill from Kilbride gate, and once at the top, intended freewheeling it down the hill. Alas the brakes did not work, and I ended up going over the edge of the road and landed with the bike on top of me! I really was very lucky, as there were many times when I risked life and limb ! When I see Lerags now, there are holiday chalets for the tourists, and no animal or crops in the wee fertile beds. There are also many trees, which did not get the chance to grow, as the animals ate the tasty shoots. I appreciate your daily history tales, as it brings back buried memories which I need a prompt to get my brain working again. ....old Tich.

Excellent video, Julie. It's now on my to do list. Actually, it always was but now I'm more determined after the virus has gone away.
