@@kurowoof the thing is Tsukino Mito didn't just paved the way for Niji, she did it for all 2D vtubers and bringed the streaming factor to the Vtuber market

Although to be fair, even Mito feels pressured with the Dai-senpai title since she believes there is no Daisenpai in Nijisanji because the 1st wave debuted with only a day difference per person.

This is different with Hololive where Sora was the first and only talent for a while.

dai doesn't really mean great. It doesn't have a direct paralell in english. When you call someone senpai it's to show respect and honor those above you in rank in your group (like school, work, your field of study, someone you look up to, etc) and dai-senpai would be multiplying that by a factor of 10 estientially. Instead of just someone you generally admire or look up to dai-senpai would be someone who has done a lot of achievements and helped a lot of people all while putting in a ton of effort and work themselves which makes a great many people look up to them which is most often the oldest or oldest ones within a group just due to the time would take to achieve all the feats needed to earn the title. So for example if you're in a research group the head researcher would be your senpai (someone you admire and look up to) but a world reknown researcher that you collectively work under along with other research groups would be dai-senpai

I think most of the livers before the vtuber boom that are still here classify as dai-senpais, and Tsukino Mito is like a super dai-senpai of them all.

I think what Elira's getting at here is that the true "daisenpai" title of Nijisanji belongs to Tsukino Mito for carrying the weight of being the very first member and helping get ANYCOLOR off the ground. "Daisenpai" is a title that carries a _lot_ of weight and is reserved for a _very_ select few. For comparison, I've only seen Japanese VTubers call Kizuna Ai, the Four Heavenly Kings, and a handful of others by that title. To put things into perspective, the only VTuber I've seen Usada Pekora refer to as "daisenpai" was Nekomiya Hinata. As far as I know, she doesn't even refer to Tokino Sora by that title.

for that, the title senpai should be more than enough, daisenpai carries FAR more weight and respect, and should be treated as such
