Ngl the only reason I can remember Mt Rushmore is in South Dakota is because of that Simpsons episode when they go to Florida Marge: “we’ll we are now banned from entering 48 states” *crosses off Florida “that just leaves … and North Dakota” Bart: “let’s make our next vacation North Dakota. Originally they were one territory called Dakota that split due to political disagreements so when they became official states they were North and South Dakota
