Heart’s parents didn’t know the sign language till the end of the series. But after the conflict between Heart and his mother, she gets to know that she should have learn sign language as she couldn’t even apologize to him. I think that’s why they didn’t translate his signs in order to make us aware how he feels.

I actually saw that in the upper left corner it said RIT. Which would be Rochester Institute of Technology. That area has a very large community of deaf people alongside that school

Who is a fan of one-night stands? Loneliness may drive a need to consummate, but I don't believe that the one-night stand is what it is, merely a need to connect with a hope more will follow.

In revisiting this video, I came across your questions, and I'm sure others have had similar ones. I'll admit, I started to try and write a response to address them, but Question 1 alone came out to around 350 words - far more than most people would be willing to read in a RU-vid comment. I can just say that, in short summary, Questions 1 and 2 can be answered by exposure to people in the respective communities (the deaf community and the LGBTQ community). Every individual person of those communities has their own unique experiences, and I've had the honor of hearing some of those stories that do reflect the sentiments embodied by Heart and Jim (Earth's character). So, as fictional of a story as Moonlight Chicken is, there are emotions grounded in real experiences. Question 3 is... well, it's a fictional story that wanted a happy ending, so that's where we are. That being said, a student visa to the USA does not prevent you from working, it just limits what types of jobs you're allowed to have. Also, scholarships and grants are an option, so if Li Ming actually wanted to dedicate the time and effort to apply for every single one he qualifies for, who are we to stop him from chasing the "American dream"? Who knows, maybe Heart can help him too, and we can just have fun imagining them struggle through college like the rest of us.

@@BandGeekSquadron This is theatre. Theatre is about a creative manner to deal with life. Theatre during the Golden Age is Ancient Greece was a way to teach morals, understanding human needs and motivations and emotions. The attendees sat naked arm against naked arm. Emotions were transmitted through every physical means. The play was not based on realism but the myths of the gods, intending to teach. If you insist on reality in theatre, you are looking in the wrong place.

That prejudice makes the caller superior...the emotional development of Li Ming suggests that he is not that poor as depicted.

No quarto, a mãe explica ao filho o quanto seu amigo é especial, importante e o ama. Pouco depois, ele se encontra com o amigo na varanda do hospital que responde com uma carinha de cachorrinho meigo e meio temeroso: fui comprar comida, você pode estar com fome. Recebe um abraço emocionado. Mas não encontrei hoje no youtube essa série legendada em português. Lamentável
