It was so Simple back then, so Peaceful, anything you made would work, not much in terms of actual items and blocks, so it was easier to get everything. There didn't need to be much, and it took the internet by storm. A golden Age, that Mostly everyone forgot. a Forgotten Identity that made the game popular in the first place. I remember having so much fun, building this very crappy looking single line of buildings, 3 of em' were made, and just, having a blast. There didn't need to be anything else, no end game goal, no dragon, no elytra, nothing. only goal was the ones you made. THAT, is why I like old Minecraft and miss the old days. Modern Minecraft isn't the Minecraft I remember. its just not the same game.
There was definitely something about the simplicity of it. I believe the phantoms changed the game for the worse by forcing sleep. Nights in the game were so much of that nostalgia. Your first night. Hearing the mobs outside. Going outside to go by your torch-lit yard to chop trees. That signature square moon overhead. Going out in the night to hunt mobs, to explore, to build... Now I rarely find myself going for days (and nights) on end in game without sleeping because, well, I can't anymore. It's a mechanic I wish they didn't add.
The way they added so much more unnecessary items and extras to the different biomes kinda killed the urge for players to be creative and build what they wanted minecraft to have.
I don't think so. I love the old versions but you have to understand that if they never added anything, the game would be the same and get old very quickly. Old times are only nostalgic when there's something newer of that same thing to compare it to.
