Trash talking Ippo is one thing, but trash talking the coach is a death sentence, doesn't matter if you're fighting Ippo or Takamura, both will absolutely obliterate you. And with that guy, he not only disrespected the coach, he disrespected Ippo's previous opponents which he respects immensely. The match was already decided the moment the trash talking got there.
I have left Hajime no Ippo, so I might miss a point, but the context here is the opponent (I only remember that his name is Kojima, not his full name) actually idolizes the protagonist, Ippo Makunouchi, and had always wanted to personally have a match with him. When he finally did, he wanted Ippo to give his all, to be at his best, thus provocating not only Ippo himself, but also Ippo's coach, Genji Kamogawa. Imagine Mike Tyson's opponent insulting Cus D'Amato before fighting Tyson. The unfortunate thing here is, Ippo would have totally given him his all, anyway, like he always does against every of his opponents.
Another great detail is that Kojima was expecting a child and that child would partly be named after Ippo and Kojima's last name Hisato, using a combination of their Kanji which would be Kazuto (Kazuto or 一人, Ippo in Japanese would be 一歩, Hisato is 寿人)
@@Wellgee i literally just read it and that is definitely not what he says, he is constantly going on about ippos fatal flaw and that is it. ippo has never been this angry before a match so if he knew that would happen if he was angry he would have superpowers or something
@@amineouerdani8692Yes, against Sawamura Ippo was angry as a champion and a boxer, because Sawamura insulted boxing itself. But against Kojima his hatred was more personal.
@kutaybayraktar3998 he found it cool but highly irresponsible. Also, Ippo and Kamogawa's dynamic works in a weird way, Ippo doesn't mind being scolded, and it motivates him, its a tough love kind of deal
I love that his plan going into this was basically "I can take at least one punch. Ippo's never had a one-hit knock-out before" and then immediately learning that there's a first time for everything
It was one of Ippo's challengers while he was still Japanese champion. If you don't plan on reading or just need a reminder then spoilers ahead: This guy is a massive fan of Ippo and wanted to fight him at his best, that's why even though it hurt him and Ippo he trash talked to get Ippo's best as his last fight. The saddest part is after he woke up from the hospital he couldn't remember the fight, he just wanted to have a memory of fighting his idol at his best and he couldn't.
Bros neck chin cheek and orbital has got to be fucked over after that one like ippo sent a fully grown maj spinning in the air and made him land on his damn head
What nobody understands is that Ippo has a monster in him, only he himself doesn't know it yet. This is a perfect example of what that monster can do when pushed too hard.
I just finished watching all 76 episodes on netflix yesterday. I loved it. Really cared for all the characters, main, supporting and even the opponents. And I don't know why because I'm not a sensitive guy or nothing but I even started to tear up both when Ippo won rookie of the year and when he became Japan Featherweight Champion.
The punch ippo took gave him brain damage which kept accumulating over the more fights he had which was the major reason why ippo lost to Antonio Guevara and Antonio he wasn’t using his defense to the best of his capabilities there were times he down right took punches to the face without weaving or blocking not only that he kept falling throughout the match with Antonio the coach should have noticed this but he was an reckless fighter back when he was an boxer too.
Me: "This guy is a straight-up villain, he deserves to get his shit rocked. No way can the writer make me feel for Ippo's opponent THIS time" Later: "oh no"
Spoilers: The boxer here is actually trashtalking Ippo since he knows this is his last boxing match. He suffered a knuckle injury that has compromised his career. And he has a kid that is on the way. He trash talked Ippo, to get one last shot at the belt, and without Ippo holding back. He lost in one hit, but he did manage to rock Ippo a bit. Ippo would later sign a pair of boxing gloves for his newborn son.
@@bertrandlerouge5555 The guy was actually looking for Ippo earlier after the fight to sign an autograph, but ran into Aoki instead who thought he wanted HIS auto for his kid, since they debuted around the same time. Though he'd throw it into the trash later. Aoki would talk to him after in a restaurant about why he did all that trash talking, and then gave him the gloves Ippo signed since he realized why the guy did it back at the arena.
I fell bad of that Guy because he was actually a big fan of ippo and always watch his tape everyday and he move his weight class so he can fought ippo. And he trash talked Ippo so that Ippo can give All that he got when he fight him.
