Just for reference, the closer you are to being KOed according to the game, the more likely people target you since the default targetting mode is to target a player close to being KOed. So using the Attackers targetting is a good way to counter for it

I always get second because my board is too clean at the start of top 10. I have always loved Tetris, so being good at it makes me the first top 10 target, and I always have too much trash to beat first. It’s fun though, way more challenging than just playing standard Tetris alone. I do wish I could change the control though.

Correction; the controlls can be changed....but only flipping the left and right stick, which neither of them work it’s th actual Tetris game. Both target other people....you can only use the dpad

Being unable to properly customise your controls is one of the biggest mistakes this game could done. For me, and it's pretty simple, I'd prefer to map the Hold Button to ZL/ZR. That being said, Tetris 99 is very fun.
