Hi Geoff Miller :) Long time no-see. If you are THE Geoff I knew (and I think you are), my 2nd wife and I lived in Rapid Creek near the Anglican church. Do you still make heavy solid kayaks??. How do I "PM" you here?. I'm on facebook etc.
Sigh, the memories just keep flooding back Brad. I recall one day, when "The Dry' broke, we all raced outside to dance in the rain. Such a great relief. Thankyou for 'dancing in the rain' for us, who so remember the awesome wonder of it all.
Nothing like being up north in the wet season. The storms are excellent, the wilderness is alive and it’s just a really good atmosphere all round. I’ve been up there a lot, and WA and QLD, but haven’t been up in a long time….I’ve got the itch to go up again and spend the whole wet season there.
That is a downpour . It is like the monsoons in India which it is . How do you’ll drive in that rain . Just this afternoon my cousin sent me a message saying there’s a big thunderstorm happening there and I replied I don’t have to be in Darwin to see what’s happening . Thank you Brad for posting these videos and putting yourself through inconvenience .
I was in Darwin for 2 days in Dec 2010. Had a bit of rain on the ist evening, none on the second. Was hoping for a big downpour. But the full wet had probably not kicked in yet.
*Question: is it hot while it rains? Like you don't need Big clothes to cover up because it's not cold right? I ask because I live in a place where when if it rains, it's definitely cold weather... The temperature is cold, the rain is cold, etc. But I imagine that Darwin, being a tropical place, is Hot while It rains... And I wonder how that feels like, I just associate rain with cold hahah so I can't imagine being in tank top and shorts with downpouring*
