Deserves to do well in the voting. This entry is so different from the others not copying anything that we´ve heard in the competition before. It also brings national elements to esc when many other songs have started to resemble one another. Congratulations Azerbaijan!
Those comments are ridiculous! Azerbaijan is in my top 10 this year! Love that my own country Norway and Azerbaijan both are sending something ethnic and organic to the contest to show cultural elements this year!!🇳🇴🇦🇿
😅 Oh the comments... Anyway, I'm in love with this song, it's my number 3. His voice, presence, delivery everything is so mesmerising. Love from Croatia ❤
Thanks for you reaktion !!!❤❤❤
How, HOW is this song sitting at 200/1 odds? It surprises me that it is so divisive because I think it has all the elements of a top 5 entry. My 12 points from Ireland
This is possibly one of the most slept on songs this year. I'm not saying it's the best, but it's very good. Thank God its not a brainless banger....we have so many of those this year. Neither is it a desperate ploy for sympathy, or a copy of a song from a previous year. It has its own identity, a strong cinematic quality, a gentle soaring chorus, all layered with a beautiful cultural and traditional sounds. I love it.
The first time I listened to it I said to myself: Meh, quite slow, Ilkin should sing more … the second time I listened to it I was like: this is a a masterpiece!
Salam Deban!! I’m so happy that Deban is reacting to this video alone!! I love your comments so much!! you are always honest and fun to listen to!! best of luck to land of fire!! 🇦🇿🔥❤️
Deban!! Love you and your reactions!!! I really liked the song and I am very happy that we can finally hear Azerbaijani! Lots of love to you and all of my Azerbaijani sisters and brothers from Turkey!
This is my favourite Eurovision song this year (apart from Baby Lasagna). They are completely different but they both take me somewhere where I feel great. ❤
Azerbaijan this year is very very underrated... Can't believe people think this entry is horrible.... Are we voting for music or cheap jump up & down disco trash?! I strongly believe Azerbaijan will qualify for the final and finish in the top 10 against all odds.
I agree with you Azerbaijan song is so very beautiful I cannot believe some people think that Finnish pantless man who cannot sing qualifies and Azerbaijan won't qualify? This song has it all ethnic sounds, great vocals and beautiful story. I love it. I think Norway and Azerbaijan are black horses 2024 .
I moved to EU from Azerbaijan and in my workplace sometimes we put some music for fun. Oh my goodness, almost all trashy music. I was really surprised how mentally downgraded difference for good music choices!! There is no heritage remains. That terrifying!
I‘ve always been quite fond of Azerbaijan in Eurovision, especially the rather unusual songs. And again, this year they do not disappoint me. For the nth time Azerbaijan is in my top 10 - this year again. The traditional elements, haunting, stressed by the James-Bond-esque violin add-on! Keeping my fingers crossed it will qualify. ❤ Love from Germany
Thank you so much for taking your time to give deep insights into Azerbaijani classical composition such as mugam and for giving a profound info about who composed the song, etc. We truly appreciate that! Sending lots of love from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿❤
The only song that has been on repeat since its release. Hopefully Europe will appreciate this song rather than cliche pop, disco songs and at least be at the top 5.
I can proudly say that this song is my number 1. The melody, the instruments, the performance - everything is really magnificent. There are many good songs this year - but none of them is close to this
This is a beautiful song and imo a real dark horse. It's a haunting melody and full of ethic sounds. Truly a fantastic breath of fresh air in Eurovision 2024.
4:42 I so agree that there is nothing wrong in Azerbaijan having Swedish songwriters. Why Azerbaijan has to reject a songwriter because he is not an Azerbaijani? Why can't we just appreciate the song and songwriters but instead go to check their nationalities, country of origin's and DNAs?
I agree with you! I find this song so beautiful and it’s definitely in my top 10 this year! “A song that understands simplicity and sophistication” was a great way to put it! The melody together with his voice feels soothing in a way, and the ethnic elements just puts the cherry on top.
by far one of the best entries..💛💚💙💜🤎. 2024 - what a great energy... vibe... voices... it takes you on a journey and Deban - you slay - love u love u love u from Vienna
I agree with you Deban, I was so surprised to see the comments by those unimpressed with the song. It's not a banger, but it's not meant to be. It's a vibe that floats on a cloud, a bit like "Ramonda" (which I also like). There should be room at Eurovision for songs that create a beautiful mood. And it doesn't hurt that there are two beautiful men here as well.
Deeeebaaaaan! Save some space for me as well in that plane with you and both the lovely azeri lads!! I adore this song!!! It is one of my favourite azeri entries ( having seriously strong competition) !! I really can't understand how people find this bland. For me it's absolutely mesmerising! All the way through!
Why someone say it will not qualify ? I am going to vote for this song. Beautiful, original song, nice voice, amazing arrangement with elements of Azeri culture.
Don't know why this is so behind in the bedding odds - this will be definitely the dark horse this year and surprise everyone and hope he will end up in the top10 where he belongs! He is so hot by the way ;-P so pleasing for the eye! and im tired of people who talk an entry down which is not delivering fun factor like so many this year (croatia, switzerland netherlands finland ireland) - Its a music contest and not a freak show. Its annoying that the freak shows get all the attention and love year after year while artistic music ends up on the bottom. seems the major content from real music shifted to entertaining value where spectacle is everything and music just secondary. that has to change!
It always saddens me when people feel the need to bring other people/countries down to elevate what they like. Elevate what you like on its own merits … There are no “freaks” - only different tastes …
@@globalhikingcr and here we go again- can't have an opinion without offending someone. thanks for the headsup but i call it a freakshow when i see one. feel free to ignore my opinion. My point is that the contest should focus more on musical quality (melody, composition, lyrics) and not on show spectacle- but you hang everything on the word freak now. snowflake
Croatia's song is great but I agree that Finland should stay in semifinal. That bare ass cannot even sing a note Henri can some but poorly. Benny Hill did it better.
I'm wholeheartedly agree on Deban's comments on the song, but also get the overall people's comment. As usual, people don't realize what's traditional these days and their mindset will be azerbaijan 2009 all over again. This is the current traditional & modern mixed songs we're usually listen up. If you don't appreciate, don't ask for one, let azerbaijan choose melfest songs again then.
I completely agree with you Deban, this is a beautiful song. And just as you pointed out, the seamless transitions between languages is very impressive. It kind of illustrates the ”united by music” motto I think 😊
Bravo !!! Your reaction is one of the best reactions to Azerbaijani singers ! My like became number 880. Your refined taste and professional flair amazes me. You, like no one else, are sober and sensitive to music that does not repeat established Swedish standards and tries, through experimentation, to create new music that resonates with the sincere feelings and thoughts of ordinary people who want to live and love. You have a subtle understanding of what the representatives of Azerbaijan want to convey - their identity, an excellent musical education, which provides inspiration in the realities of the new musical wave, the onslaught of which will never deprive us of the unique and traditional music of Azerbaijan - the Land of Fire. --- We are very proud that we are Azerbaijanis, that we are Azerbaijani Turks, that we are the descendants of the Oghuz Turks, who carried the spirit of the people through millennia and brilliantly embodied it in customs, in national cuisine, in handmade carpets, in music - and this and ashug music, this includes traditional mugham, pop music and even jazz mugham. Good luck to our guys!
