Bengal in particular Dhaka the capital city of Bangladesh was rich in Muslin but that was stopped during the British colonial rule of Bengal where our loom weavers were put out of business and even punished physically by the British. Our resources were stolen for the benefit of Britain. Weaving is one of the many traditions in our country, and Jamdani saree is famous all over the world. During the 17th and 18th centuries, Mughal Bengal emerged as the foremost muslin exporter in the world, with Mughal Dhaka as capital of the worldwide muslin trade. It became highly popular in 18th-century France and eventually spread across much of the Western world. This song was released just before the day of Bengali New Year. In this song, they've shown whole steps of traditional weaving. It's started from cotton to thread counting and weaving by handloom. Then they've shown in local sari markets and then they start representing to the international marketing level. They finished with a shout out to Bengali pride of Jamdani Sari. Currently, local fashion designers are trying to take it to the global level. Within this they've also talked about an affection to a waiver Kalachan by his beloved.
