Thank you for showcasing proper usage of the electrician's blade (Sheepsfoot-esque)! I'm having a custom Victorinox SAK built for me, based on the Victorinox Cybertool L, but swapping out the saw for the Cybertool Lite's magnifier and light tools, and having hammered titanium plus scales. I'll now go and speak to the store I commissioned my build to swap out the small blade for the Electrician's Blade (from the Electrician Alox)! This is more practical for me as an EDC, whilst my Swisstool X is for strictly home use. Cheers! 🍻

Hey Steve 👊🏼 Yes, perhaps on a few more models. However, I often use the bottle/cap lifter as a 'pry bar', so anything less is just not going to cut it. It all depends on your requirements, I guess... Thanks for stopping by, ATB 👍🏼

I have a bunch of SAKs and I like to pair them in my EDC. The Electrician is one of my favorites, and I pair it with the Manager. This gives you the small screwdriver, tweezers, pen, nail file, scissors, and another blade. And it's about the same thickness. I like that the Electrician doesn't have the split ring. I think the awl/reamer is my most used tool on this one, as just an all-round tool. Nice video!

Just wanted to throw my two cents In . I love the Alox knives . all of them , from the Classic to the Farmer X . On a side note . the universal pull scale from 1-10 is all based off the fact that a Victorinox is a consistent 5 . Every time right down the middle of the scale . Great video !

I agree, this is a very underrated model and is an awesome EDC option, I would love it even more if it had a scissors though. As much as I like the different alox colour options, I only EDC the silver once for the same reasons you mentioned, but it still does not stop me from owning them in other colours for the collection.

Your right about the colour because I've got a few in different colers and in time it slowly whers in but the silver farmer x is my favourite because the can opener has a fantastic driver on the end so i think the farmer x is the best to date because the better for the poickit edc then the hunsman you might have a few extra tools like the scale tools but i think the alox is a much stronger allrander then those red handle Swiss army knives even though i still love the red classic Swiss army knives i think the farmer 🚜X is a very strang multi tool for day to day use ☺👍

I have the harvester/Swiss army 7. It's just like the electrician you got but it has a small hawlbill blade instead of the electricians blade plus a woodsaw.. Think i found my go to Victorinox. I love it!

Thanks Gus. Another great review and another star knife. 🤩 Yes, we’ve all had’em! I had one in my 20s and gave it away and missed it so much I got one in lockdown and edc it so much when I don’t want to carry a Leatherman on my belt, this is sleek and stylish in my pocket and a joy to use. Hey buddy 👊 Agreed, it's definitely one of my favs, and for me, the best value Alox 👌 They did have an electrician Duo, which included the hawkbill blade and the Duo+ which featured the saw blade. Is the Alox any slimmer than the traditional plastic scales?

Yes I can confirm that since I own a Hiker (celidor/plastic scales) and a Farmer, both have 3 layers with the middle layer being a saw. The Hiker is 16.6mm thick whereas the Farmer (alox) is 14mm thick. If you take a Farmer with an extra layer, the Farmer X which adds scissors, the thickness is 17mm so you can more or less consider the alox models to be a layer slimmer than their celidor counterparts. Other advantages of alox are slightly stronger backsprings, slightly larger, thicker and deeper main blade, steel liners rather than aluminium, and obviously the more durable scales in alox as opposed to plastic, plus if you're getting a 93mm Pioneer-based alox the inline reamer/awl is a fair bit more capable than the backtool awl you find on celidor models. Only drawback of course is you don't get scale tools like toothpick, tweezers or pen. I often carry my Farmer together with a 58mm Classic SD which takes up next to no space, giving me the best of both worlds, the small scissors are still very capable within their size limitations.

Pity it doesn't have a small Phillips, esp when wiring plugs. It's great being able to strip the wires but then you have to go looking for a screwdriver!

Yes, it is... I see that, but to me its also a 'spear point' - it all depends on people's interpretation... If I got 3 people to go to the woods 🌳🌲 and got them to stand in a line... and asked them to pick up what's on the ground - the answers would be: 1. Soil 2. Dirt 3 Earth ... it's the same thing, but people's perceptions are different, which is cool, as that is what makes us all unique 😉 Atb Gus 👍
