In Cameroon, violence between Anglophone separatists and government forces has killed at least 400 people this year, and more unrest is expected ahead of the country's October 7 election.
Because they do not recognise the Cameroonian government, English-speaking separatists are attempting to prevent the vote from taking place in the country's Northwest and Southwest regions. Anglophone residents there say they have long suffered marginalisation by Cameroon's Francophone-majority. Protests by teachers and lawyers starting in 2016 helped prompt renewed calls for the establishment of an independent state of Ambazonia for Anglophone residents. But demonstrations have grown into armed conflict with violence targeted at civilians and schools that has driven tens of thousands to become internally displaced or flee into neighbouring countries.
The conflict has put Cameroonian troops at odds with Ambazonia Liberation Forces and other secessionist groups. So far, none of the parties involved been able to meet to discuss a potential resolution to the violence. In this episode, we'll look at the impact of this crisis and ask if Cameroon has the political leadership to solve it.

I love your handling of the conversation on the Cameroon Crisis, a very balance report, which reports, nothing but the news, the news opinions from the participants, and your reading of the online comments, recommendable. This is what journalism is, and should be. Thank you.

Kahwalla stop saying nonsense. Ambazonians did not pick up arms. Biya declared war on them.
@timtim5933

Kahwalla is an anglo-bami so she cannot support ambazonia. She talks of people married across the two cameroons. That's nonsense. It is no excuse not to split cameroon. People are married to Africans from other countries, so it is the same between a LRC and an ambazonian.

In my opinion, The Anglophone crisis in Cameroon isn't an issue of language difference rather it's an issue of geographical origin. There are Anglophone Cameroonians who speak more of French than English but are still marginalized solely because of their place of Origin which is either the North West Region or South West Region.

Oh God in heaven, I come before You in the Name of Jesus on behalf of the Nation of Cameroon. First of all in accordance with 1Timothy 2:1-2, I intercede and give thanks for kings and all in authority and expect to live a quiet and peaceable life. I pray for the Word of God to be given free course and Your people to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2). The heart of the king is in Your hand and You will turn it whichever way You choose (Proverbs 21:1). I ask You to direct this election and the hearts and minds of the people of Cameroon a people that you love with all your heart, to make decisions that will lead the country in Your ways and according to Your Word. I thank You, Lord, for bringing change to the politics of Cameroon. Thank You for changing the voices of influence to speak in agreement with Your Word. I ask You to send laborers filled with the spirit of wisdom and might, to surround the leaders of Cameroon with godly counsel and insight. I also ask You to remove from positions of authority those who stubbornly oppose righteousness, and replace them with men and women who will follow You and Your appointed course for Cameroon. As we enter the final hours of the last days, I ask for the spirit of faith, the workings of miracles, for signs, wonders, gifts and demonstrations of the Holy Spirit and power to be in strong operation. Let believers in Cameroon and in every land be unified to stand strong by faith in Jesus, the Anointed One and His Anointing, that Your glory may be revealed in all the earth. Thank You, Lord, that these requests come to pass. I believe I receive. Amen.

In Thailand there are few Cameroonians also but mostly are English teachers. Some French speaking Cameroonians work at the restaurant or football players as blue collar.

The real problem I see here is the faith in one man, the "BIG MAN". African has too many of these people instead of being the land of laws and rules ... Africa will never grow. Also Paul is not in charge the military is. Paul is resting in Switzerland! Replace Paul and you will still have the same issues.

Hahahah... 😂! Can someone remind Kah Walah that since 1972, Ambazonians only picked up arms in 2017 when Government declared war on them after a peaceful protest. More than 150 villages were burned down and people senselessly killed b4 Ambazonians picked up arms. They had no choice instead of remaining slaughtered.

But who is stop our Anglophone side from going to school and educating themselves. This is causing a long term, a generational negative impact on our country while Paul Biya, the author of disaster in Cameroon is not even aware of it, talkless of minding the consequences.

Disgusting interview... It will be no negotiation with separatists extremists. The only way to gain their independence will be to fight to the last men, and defeat Kamerun, out of that, you can keep dreaming. It’s your right.

Biya is not our common enemy Kahwalka. Stop speaking for others. The system in cameroon is not working. It is beyond Biya. Both cultures are not compatible. So kahwalls take note. K know you are bamileke and so fear your identity. This is about ambazonia.

Exactly, the 2 peoples acquired 2 incompatible systems of governance but unfortunately were forced to be together. The main cause of the current crisis were from a teachers/lawyers as a result of incompatibility of the 2 systems wherein the anglophones felt disregard for their systems
