I probably would have cried too. ....If i was able to cry. I think my brain has some dumb internalized "have to be strong" thing, because i havent been able to cry in years.
As a lebanese guy with family pressure, especially being the eldest of not just my family but some of my extended family as well... the pressure of expectation can get to you... everyone relies on you and expects you to make a change to carry the family to the next generation, but you usually only have yourself to rely on ... so i love that you guys IMMEDIATELY picked up on the lyrics and understood the sad undertone of this video.. many people enjoy the music and dont notice how sad it is. Also Elie and Carol, one fun fact: the reason why there are so many donkeys in this (other than the fact that she was carrying them earlier), is because the donke y represents a working animal, all it does is manual labor over and over, and so when she's lowering her voice in the rainbow scene and talking about "but what if i didnt have all this pressure, wouldnt that be nice to relax?", her "donkeys" become "unicorns". Unicorns usually represent the "fantasy" , they're non-existent in real life and can only be described as a wishful animal to find... so even the animation itself implies that Luisa knows that this fantasy dream of hers to not have pressure is a non-existent dream that she can't have... and immediately after lowering her guard she ends up having pressure falling from the sky on her, and the weight of the world literally crumbling on top of her shoulders.... and that's what the donkeys are back in the picture, to remind her that she's just a working animal in the eyes of her family and surroundings.
True, guys!! You got the message right away from the song. It's awesome to see that Disney is portraying the family and social pressures that many people are suffering nowadays. It's so relatable, indeed. Happy to watch this reaction from u both, is so nice to watch u smile and enjoy everything. Oh! Let's see some interesting details!! 😄 The singer is the daughter of Cuban immigrants in the USA. There is a part in which Luisa and Mirabel are stuck in a coffee grind where you can see how important is coffee for us 😆, and almost at the end of the video where Luisa and the donkeys are dancing on a hat, well.... that's one of the typical and most representative hats from here mostly used in the part of the Caribbean part of the Country. The hat is called the 'sombrero vueltiao' the literal meaning to English is 'flip hat' but sounds weird to us. You guys are doing an excellent job!!!🤩 Keep it up!! Big hugs from Colombia!!!💖
Ohhhhh 😍😍 You're such a sweetheart!! Muchas gracias for the valuable details and information you always provide us 😃 It's really appreciated🙏 Hopefully we'll react to Colombian singers too so we can know more about Colombia and the culture. We know Shakira because she's half Lebanese 🥰 Sending much love to you and to Colombia❤️❤️
Surface Pressure reminds us that people deal with pressure in different ways. We should always check on each other to make sure no one in the family is struggling with a heavy load, with a smile on their face.
Thank you for your latest reactions, I really needed this content today! Lots of family members are dealing with something under the surface. Now I think the only other song that you could enjoy without watching the movie might be Mirabel's "Waiting on a miracle". I know you're getting other suggestions like Dos Oruguitas, personally I think it would have more impact in context but you do you!
Next you need to hear dos oruguitas. Another beautiful song you should really hear and probably the last one that's really necessary before watching the movie 🎬
I feel like Dos Oruguitas is going to reveal too much of the end for them - maybe they could do the 'reaction' for that when they are actually watching the movie all the way through?
Stromae's latest single (l'enfer) is currently at 16m views in 10 days, but the single before that, Santé, was a celebration of and cheers to, all those who are never celebrated: waitresses, cleaning staff, factory workers, ...and featured those people celebrating. No models or actors, just 'regular, run of the mill' people. As an artist he is truly one of a kind.
Something I noticed with this song, having seen many reactions and gone through the comments. It is a good catchy song that you can enjoy for the beat, if you don't particularly relate. It is a very depth and touching song if you relate. I don't particularly relate, but the longer I listen to it the longer it touches me. Jessica Darrow is excellent in her interpretation, and listening how her voice turns as more and more burden is on her shoulders after the unicorns scene (4:21 in this reaction), that's the point that gets me, who each whoo sounds more suffered.
OMG, I love this movie and I just passed by your channel to see your Encanto's videos reactions. What I can say is that you are BOTH so cute :) with your little reactions, comenting the stuff and the lyrics, you both made me smile. You guys seem very genuine and humble :) Xoxo
This was my first Ecanto video. It was mentioned by another RU-vidr who didn’t do reaction videos and I had to watch it. Since then I have watched most of the music videos and a number of reaction videos.
There are several other animated characters whom I think this song also fits rather well with. Raven of the Titans Danny Phantom Steven Universe Lincoln Loud Monkey D. Luffy Bruce Banner Luz Noceda
So glad you two are enjoying the music so much! It’s all wonderful. If you’re continuing with the music of this film, I would recommend that you maybe ONLY listen to Waiting on a Miracle and avoid reacting to the final few songs in the film until you’ve seen the whole movie - there are a LOT of SPOILERS in Dos Oruguitas and All of You, you don’t want to ruin the plot twists! I’d even say to avoid What Else Can I Do, that one is also a little spoilery. Plus, in context, it will all hit so much harder. ;)
I think you've gone as far as you can in watching the songs before seeing the movie. Don't watch the butterfly song or you'll have too much of the end of the movie ahead of time. Watch the movie now, and ENJOY :)
The singer who played Louisa have made a jazzy version of this music and it's amazing , Jessica Darrow - Surface Pressure (Jazz cover with Mike Elizondo) : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2vu7zeSh5G4.html
Yeah guys my bad 😶 it's exactly like Leslie mentioned. Thought Stephanie Beatriz was obviously latin in Family Madrigal but Jessica didn't have a noticeable accent like her but I looked her up and realized she's Cuban American.
Girl, it's MIRAbel not MARIbel. That's the second video you call her Maribel...it's Mirabel cause they tried to find a name to rhyme with miracle, cause that's what she repressents in the family like Madrigal rhymes with magical, it's a word play.
Oops my bad 😬 I knew it's Mirabel but everytime I mention her name, I mistakenly say Maribel 🤦 Wow I absolutely loved the wordplay between the 2 words!
